The Apollo 13 started in 1961. This research paper will be about Apollo 13.When the Apollo missions officially started and there were three men that were on the spacecraft and what their names will be introduced throughout the research paper. Also who planned to put the men on the Moon. Another thing that I will be doing is discussing a little bit more information, facts on the Apollo 13. When John F. Kennedy had said that the U.S. would put man on the Moon. He was the man who planned to put the three men on the Moon. So, they sent the Apollo 13 up to the Moon to do their mission. The three men that were on board, the spacecrafts were named Jim Lovell, John Swigert, and Fred Haise. However, some people know them by different names. …show more content…

Then after that moment, they heard the bang that is why they said that they had their eyes upon them because of the reason that the oxygen that they had on the spacecraft was getting out. Also one of the men (Fred) said," The gas that was coming out and it was the oxygen" and from that point, on the Apollo 13 mission went from landing on the Moon to saving their lives. In the Apollo 13, there were three men, and they had a mission to land on the moon. When they were on their way to do their mission, their oxygen tank exploded, and they were losing their oxygen. Apollo 13 had a disaster that was mostly important, because there were people (three men) inside losing their oxygen. The NASA thought of making another Apollo, which was the Apollo 13 mission. Thirteen minutes after they heard the bang, the Apollo 13 crew had noticed that a white wispy cloud was beginning to surround the module, which was their oxygen. This disaster is what they had encountered. Before the disaster, the men were supposed to go to the Moon and find some information for the NASA, and since they could not make it they had to find a way to make it back to Earth safely. The also explored a cold ride home at 38 degrees. They had to use their lunar module to get home which they were gonna use for the landing, but instead they used it to get back to …show more content…

So each day, the Lunar Module kept getting closer and closer to Earth each day so that is when the mission controllers kept getting worried. When the three men were on their way back to Earth in the Lunar Module, it was a very cold ride because it was 38 degrees. Also to add in the NASA wanted to put in that Apollo 13 had reminded everyone “Flying to the Moon and back was not just a bus ride!” So to finish this off the three men had made it back home safely from the disaster that they had encountered, explored, and exchanged. So as to say, this essay/topic follows exploration, encounter, and
