Having a solid educational foundation, family values and the desire to serve others are attributes that I will rely on heavily as I prepare to enter college. In order to have an appreciation for the person that I am and hope to continue to develop, it is important that you know that service is an essential element of my character. Community service was instilled at a young age by my family. I am a dedicated, hardworking student who has made a commitment to “Service above Self.” Attending a college prep charter high school, where extracurricular activities are encouraged has allowed me to broaden my horizon and get involved. The organizations that have captured my interest the most are Student Council and the InterAct Community Service club. These organizations have allowed me to utilize what I have learned, playing a key role in enabling me to organize social, cultural and community events for the school, and leading group meetings for various organizations. …show more content…

With determination and hard work, I plan on majoring in psychology with a focus on the Neuro scientific aspect of the mind. After graduating from college, I plan on attending medical school at John Hopkins University, where I hope to participate on a team conducting neurological research with some of the greatest Neuroscientists’ in the country.
Having witnessed my mother suffer from symptoms of chronic migraines for several years, and now being diagnosed myself with the same disorder, strengthens my resolve ever more, to work to not only control the symptoms, but also to find a cure.
