Among the Hidden is about a boy named Luke. Luke is what many people called a "shadow child." A shadow child is normally a third or fourth child in the family. these children had to be kept a secret due to a law during this time. The law stated you may not have more than two children, so the population can be kept down. Lukes problem was obvious, He was supposed to be kept a secret. If the population police found a shadow child, the child would be murdered. But Luke was very well hidden thanks to the woods surrounding his families farm. But the government soon bought the woods around his farm and planned on building a town where the woods used to be. So now Luke was barely allowed out of his room, which was also the attic. Lukes dad wouldn't
In this book, Luke has to conquer his fears and go to his fake parents house. Luke is acting like Lee and the government doesn’t know that. Luke has to do this because he is a third child and it’s illegal to be a third child. When he goes to Lee’s house, Luke’s fake parents have to act normal around him. One day his fake parents get a bodyguard named, “Oscar” to guard him wherever he goes.

She made the shadow children third children in her book but in the real world there are shadow children, such as deaf kids, illegal immigrants, kids who are in juvenile facilities, and kids who have to hide their true identities because they are gay and living in a homophobic environment. “The light came into the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it, but that no longer mattered because the light was now obliteration the darkness” - Ted Dekker. According to this quote, there is always going to be a battle between light and dark. One is always trying to overcome the other no matter how much strength it has. This quote goes hand and hand with Equality, who is the main character in the book Anthem by Ayn Rand. In this book, these people live in a terrible time of darkness, restriction and punishment.
Collectivism: Comparing Anthem and Eye of the beholder Collectivism is the idea of putting the wants and needs of a group over a single person's. Collectivism is the basis of two societies in two separate pieces of work, Anthem by Ayn Rand and Twilight Zone episode Eye of the Beholder, written by Rod Serling. The leaders of these societies call upon similar rhetoric devices and radical ways to maintain a submissive and oppressed society.
There is a theory that there are only seven different story-lines in the world, but they are all re-used in different ways to make up all of the books and movies and plays we have today. If that theory were true, Luke's life fell into the category of the quiet kid with no glaringly obvious hopes, dreams or aspirations, if that category existed. His life seemed to helplessly revolve around school, and he spent all of his nights slaving over books and copies, studying his subject matter with an outlook of frustration on his world. Luke was nothing special to himself or to anybody else. Of course, if he found the right person, they would be able to find the special and unique aspects of Luke and embrace them, but that somebody just hadn't seemed
He suspected that Luke had some kind of infection and wanted him to check into St. Paul’s hospital in Chicago right
Since Luke is a small child, he understands the world differently and everything that
Robert Frost once said, “If society fits you comfortably enough, you can call it freedom”. Most people can relate to this quote, but what if an individual does not agree or feel comfortable in his or her social system? In the novella Anthem, Ayn Rand shows her willingness to leave an unjust society through Equality leaving his community, purposefully breaking laws, and pursuing his discoveries. The first way Rand proves that she does not agree with her society, is through the main character of the book, Equality, running away from his society. Rand states that Equality’s actions that she will do what it takes to leave her society.

The Jungle is about a family who was from Lithuania, who moved to America to “get rich”. It’s not actually about a real jungle though. The family faces a lot of hardships and problems as when they get to America. In Lithuania they struggle and are very poor. Jurgis friend said that he went to America and got rich.
Have you ever discovered something that would change the world? Something that was so important that it could rewrite history. In the book Anthem by Ayn Rand a character named equality makes such a discovery. After he makes the discovery one begins to wonder about things such as, what was his motivation? He knows that what he discovered will benefit his brothers yet that does not seem to be his motivation.
"It's not reform school or anything." The word stuck in Luke's brain. Reform. Reform. Yes, they were going to reform him.
Meanwhile they are different because the events aside from the fact that Jesus was born are all very different. Specifically the infancy narratives differ in particular ways that may cause the audience to question which infancy narrative is more correct. This essay will compare the infancy narratives of Matthew and Luke and will show how the infancy narrative of Luke previews the themes of Luke’s Gospel. The infancy narrative of Matthew occurs in the first two chapters of Matthew’s Gospel.
