After observing the clients behavior, it is evident that she has a problem limiting her excessive cellular device usage. Therefore, the behavioral intervention plan will be targeting the client’s cellular device usage in class, as well as outside of class. The plan will be targeting all cellular device usage, which includes playing games, texting, scrolling though social media sites, and finally listening to music. To prevent the client from using her phone during lectures, the behavioral plan instructed her professors to make her write an essay whenever she is using her phone. The punishment being used by her professors should limit her use during lecture hours. Another component to the punishment is it includes making her write mandatory notes in class, which should keep her hands busy. By keeping her busy writing notes she will be less likely to use her phone or talk to her classmates. In simple terms, the behavioral plan will target the client using her phone for any reasons. Therefore, after the behavioral plan is implemented whenever the client is prone to use her phone, she will instead take notes. Therefore, to limit or gradually decrease the client’s cellular device usage outside of the classroom, the behavioral plan calls for the client to be more active. The behavioral plan instructs the client’s peers to provide her with punishment for her excessive cellular device usage. The punishment used in the behavioral plan will center on exercises, such as push-ups, sit ups or squats. It is through the help of her peers, as well as punishment, the client’s cellular device usage will gradually decrease.
