Throughout the play loyalty, spite and betrayal was the main catalyst seen in the characters and the story. Banquo was a man who got a prophecy from three witches. “Macbeth will be a thane, Macbeth will be king and Banquo's sons will be kings.”, and some people didn't like that. There once was a great and loved king, and he got killed because of jealousy and spite. Also, a family murdered because of loyalty to the wrong mind. This play is Macbeth.
King Duncan was a king that was very respected and loved. He was the king of Scotland, little did he know when he would come to Castle Inverness in Northern Scotland his life would end. Macbeth was a thane of northern Scotland, He was given a prophecy by three witches that said he would be king. After that he began to think of how to be King. He thought of killing King Duncan , so he invited king Duncan to stay with him . At this point he is scared of his prophecy coming true. Macbeth would have nightmares about killing King Duncan. Leading up to the night Lady Macbeth was planning out and having her Husband do the dirty work. The night comes and Macbeth is getting ready to kill Duncan, he starts to get more nervous. After he killimg Duncan he also kills the guards, and he felt a little guilty about killing the guards. He had to keep reminding himself that he didn't kill them out of spite but out of urgency.

If betrayal wasn’t in the play then many of the big events would never happen and there would be a different outcome. An example of it in act evonne is when king Duncan says “No more that thane of cawdor shall deceive” (act I,III,71) he says this because the thane of cawdor betrayed him and was giving away all of his plans during the battle with Norway. After Macbeth hears his prophecy he decides to take further action which is to kill the king he says “It were done quickly if the assassination Could trammel up the consequence, and catch” he was basically saying that if he kills the king and get caught there would be serious consequences.
