He changed his name and worked as a dealer for alcohols and weed to become rich. This changed him, and after he became a rich man, he leaves all his dreams and just walks to Daisy trying to impress her and attract her so he can be in a relationship again with her. He never forgot her, he lost his life just to satisfy Daisy.
Moreover, what Daisy did is, cheated on her husband Tom with Gatsby after she found out that he is wealthy but didn't go back to him, she broke his heart again when she told him that she loves Tom . This illustrate how cheap she is and liar. Another critical thing in the novel is
Gatsby's betrayal to himself. Growing up Jay Gatsby constantly attempted his best to improve as a man. Gatsby had numerous deep desires and had arranged out ways so he could improve as a man. He spent his life on pursuing empty dreams. His hope was to be with his one and only love, Daisy. Each wrong decision Gatsby had made was only to impress Daisy. He was a racketeer, and he would throw costly parties utilizing the bootlegged wishing for Daisy to be amazed. Gatsby needed simply to turn back time to when he and Daisy were infatuated.
Money is important to Gatsby in many ways. He was poor as a child, and grew up poor. He joined the army, and after the war he needed to find a way to make more money to impress Daisy. Gatsby thinks that money can seduce daisy to being with him.
Gatsby creates an illusion of Daisy over a five year period after facing her rejection. Gatsby views Daisy as a symbol of his rise to the top. Daisy initially rejects Gatsby due to his lack of money and their different social positions. He then “invented just the sort of Jay Gatsby that a seventeen-year-old boy would be likely to invent.” This invention also makes it impossible for Daisy to fully know him, and consequently unable to love him.
Beginning with becoming rich and buying the house across the Bay he developed an obsession with her. Unable to live his life, searching the papers everyday hoping to catch just a glimpse of her name to see what she was up to, Gatsby was setting himself up for failure. He never opened up to the idea that things could change and that Daisy could love someone else. Daisy pushed Gatsby away in the end because of the person Tom had made him out to be. She saw Gatsby as damaged which only damaged him more, leaving him to feel unloved by the person he loved
Daisy was decepting Tom, who had no idea of the affair: although, Tom was decepting Daisy as well. Daisy had suspicion that Tom was having an affair. Tom was having an affair with a woman named Myrtle. Myrtle was married too. Tom and Daisy used their wealth to stay happy.
During her youth, Daisy fell in love with Gatsby, but ended the relationship with him after World War 1 because of Gatsby’s financial situation which he was poor. So instead she ended up marrying Tom, who was very wealthy and would be able to provide Daisy a luxurious lifestyle. But Gatsby truly believed in his heart that Daisy would leave Tom now that Gatsby is wealthy. When Gatsby implied, “ She never loved you, do you hear?… She only married you because I was poor and she was tired of waiting for me.
The cowardice exhibited by Daisy Buchanan shows that Fitzgerald’s attitude towards Daisy getting cheated on was that it is okay because he has money and that is why she wants to stay. On one hand, the reader should notice that Daisy is getting cheated on, but does not leave Tom because he has money and she loves him. Daisy Buchanan is married to Tom Buchanan, and Tom continuously cheats on her with other women. Daisy is aware of what is happening and she has to sit there and listen to Tom tell people about it.
Who is responsible for killing Jay Gatsby? Was it Tom? Daisy? George? Was it just simply himself?
The emphasis refers to foreshadowing what will take place in the hotel room. Heat is compared with anger and passion; similarly, it foreshadows the emotions which will be shown by Tom and Gatsby. Gatsby wants to forget the past, and her child is living proof for the five years. More so, it shows that Daisy had possibly had feelings for Tom at one point.

Daisy cheated on Tom to get revenge on him for him having an affair with Myrtle. She wanted Tom to feel how she felt, the only way she could do this was to cheat with Gatsby. The quote “Then he kissed her. At his lips’ touch she blossomed for him like a flower and the incarnation was complete” ( Fitzgerald 111 ) shows how Daisy cheated on Tom with Gatsby. This does not include the fact that she lead Gatsby on throughout the whole entire book.
Is it true that loving too much kills love? Sometimes loving something too much can kill a person, Gatsby dealt with this the hardest. Most people have lifetime goals of being there own boss, getting rich, and being wellknown by a lot of people. Gatsby has all this but the one thing he so desperately wants someone else has, Daisy.
