The Bible, a Christian’s final authority for both belief and behaviour, firmly establishes the fact that the only sexual orientation that is innate is heterosexual. “God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it;" (Genesis 1:28, New American Standard Bible). God was speaking to a man and a woman. It is evident from the scripture that God would not give these instructions to individuals of the same sex, as they would be unable to reproduce. The Old Testament further stresses this position in Leviticus 18:22, “You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination" (Leviticus 18:22).
