As citizens of the United States of America, I believe that we have the right to think for ourselves. For example, in the communist country China, the country regulates the media by claiming that the media will expose state secrets and endanger the country. By doing this, it prevents the citizens of that country to think for themselves by restricting what they can read, watch and hear. As Americans, we also have the Bill of Rights, the first 10 amendments to the US constitution and guaranteeing rights for the citizens of the country. Specifically, the First Amendment that guarantees the freedoms of religion, assembly, press, peace and speech. These rights are designed to protects us and I believe that as Americans we should cherish these rights we are given because it allows us to be ourselves. …show more content…

Moving on to responsibilities as citizens, I believe we should protect our Bill of Rights. As I said before, the Bill of Rights is a majority of our rights in the United States, so it should be cherished. As citizens, our government needs to know that these rights are important to us and we believe that they are essential to a successful government. Also, I believe that we need to be aware of what is going on around us and speak when wrong is being done and keep our country safe. Adding on to that, we need to take care of our country by not littering and being environmentally responsible. By not doing any harm to our country or land, we are helping each other live a longer life. I would like our country to be beautiful and healthy, as would many other Americans would like too. It is our responsibility to keep America
