Chapter 7 is focused on the approach to teach the students in a way for them to be fully engaged. the students need more focus on them and giving the students time to practice and fully grasp the in for being taught. Els need more tangible things. In later chapters the lesson was focused more on lessons that focused on knowledge rather, compared to now; the chapter is focused on meaningful learning. You pick up a language faster when looking at a picture or interact with the vocabulary learned in class. some way that student can apply their knowledge is by making a graphic organizer, holding a debate about current worldly topics, and writing you opinion. These are all ways for the learner to exercise what he knows rather just working on a …show more content…
For example, the use of native language and the way certain words are pronounced because of that native language. When having an objective for the class, it is needed to be practical because not all language skills are used daily. If the mistake happens over and over again, correct the mistake by having a lesson to contribute to those specific mistakes that you see in the classroom. When having student practice the language either when it come to writing, reading, and speaking. You should use manipulative and movement, hands-on games, electronic games, and foldable and flip charts to get your learns a more creative way to learn subject matters. When in a multi-level class is it important to ask question that can relate to all the learners in the class. To address the different types of learners the variations of how to apply their skills to a practice application can help tremendously. When having students in the same class with different skill levels it is great to let them cross teach eachother. By putting different levels of learners in the same group it will promote the exercise of new vocabulary and the enhancement of sentence structure when speaking and …show more content…
Speaking is so different from reading bevcause there are sybols for everything we sa. Someone comging from a different county already has a set in stone way of how they learned their language. When lgrowing up the first way to learn a language is listening and speaking but when learning a second one from my experience the literacy part was most of the focus. That can be very hard to grasp. Different language and different meanings. A student might have literacy in their fist langage but minial in the language they are learning. with English learners the idea that the student might have a reading [problem. often times it isn’t that there is a reading rpblem, but the student is learning a new language. Unfortunately student that don’t need to be in special education end up in the special education program. Reading skills transfer, beacause of this transfer it will make it easier to be literate in a different laguae. This doesn’t mean that a student will automatically because literate in a new langaguage but it will be easier. Many student come without literacy in their own language and these student end up in the special education program. They don’t nessecary need to be in that program but because they don’t have something to recall from they have to start with the basics. Student will get frustrated with reading itf they can not read at least 80% . some ways to help out
After reading chapter 11, it’s sufficient to say Zach Wahls has a very strong sense of right and wrong. During this chapter, he talks mainly about defining “morality” through the use of moments in his life. He uses these experiences to help break down the idea of what is truly immoral and what society believes is immoral. The examples he uses range from simple things like drinking soda and smoking.

Summary 4: Chapter Four and Five In chapters four and five, the theme that is presented is for all soccer players to be mentally and physically tough. The team that shows up with a strong mentality will most likely win. In the 1995 women’s world cup in Sweden, the United States had to face Australia to advance in their division. Since the U.S. thought scoring would be easy during this match, Australia shot in the first goal during the first half.
What learning tasks did I respond to most easily from this chapter? I think that is childhood and adolescence. They are very familiar for me. Childhood is a critical time in the life of an individual.
Chapter 11 was a good chapter. The doctors are working on math with Mila they are also working on how to search things on the computer. I do not think it is important for Mila to learn these skills because she should be learning how to be more like a human than a dolphin. If I were the doctors I would be teaching her of more human things than of math and searching on the computer. I chose these things because since she is more used to dolphins than us humans so she should learn more human things.
Chapter 11 and chapter 12 is about grandpa Hillburn calling Hiram’s parents to explain why Hiram would not be returning home. Hiram’s mother was understanding and said “ just you remember who you are, Hiram Hillburn, and be sure you do what is right no matter what”. Also to help your grampa as much as you can. you’re not there on vacation anymore”. Ruthanne returned back the next morning looking very exhausted.
In Chapter 11 of Bonvillain’s book she talks about how Spanish is the most non-English language spoken in the U.S as well as the difficulties these people encounter in learning English (p.298-300). At El Centro I noticed a pattern in both classes I helped with; where the women were always more shy and learned at a much lower pace than the men. We can refer this back to Bonvillain’s claim, “Women are more likely than men to retain Spanish because of their relatively narrower social networks”(p.300). It was evident that they weren’t exposed as much as the men to American society. Although both men and women had an accent, the women’s were always stronger and they had a harder time pronouncing the vowel sounds correctly.
Read 7:00 pm MM: God demonstrates faithfulness, as seen in the fulfillment of promises, and shows humans His character, so that people can grow in the knowledge of God, enabling them to dismiss false prophets, and grow in faithfulness until glorification. I changed my MM to provide a more holistic message. My previous message did not weave together the ideas Peter presented. TSp Peter starts and ends with grace and knowledge. (1:1 and 3:18)
In chapter 8, Graff talks about the strategies to connect each part of essay to create a complete expression. He emphasizes that connecting between sentences and sentences or phrases and phrases is important because it helps the readers clearly and obviously understand the writer’s thinking process, then obtain the writer’s purpose of writing. To create the connection, Graff mentions four strategies, containing to use transition word, to use pointing words, to repeat key team and phrase, and to repeat writer’s ideas in different methods. Chapter 9 is about properly transform formal and unformal writing style in the academic writing. Graff first confirms the importance in using formal language, vocabulary in academic writing.

In a learning environment, teachers want to help students engage with what they are doing to promote deeper understanding" (Kohn, 1997c). The student-directed learning theory implies that the teacher should share the
In chapter fifteen the group of three eat breakfast. The storm passes, and everyone feels like they had just awoken from a nightmare. The three then talk about Armstrong’s disappearance, then Blore and Lombard get in an argument. Blore finds it odd that Armstrong has his revolver with him again, but Lombard refuses to give his revolver up because he says it is for his protection. Blore then says that if Lombard doesn’t give his gun up then he would have to come to the conclusion that he is Mr. Owen.

This program in theory would very beneficial to a lot of English language learners but the way the course is set up the main focus is not teaching the students content rather than teaching them english. Due to this students are falling behind with learning and don’t have the same opportunities to do as well in school as non ELL students. The bilingual education system doesn 't offer English language learners the same opportunities english speaking students get, the standards for English language learners do not promote their improvement of content retention therefore causing lower test scores, a separation between peers and cause an inequitable system.
