Leslie tried to hold down Mrs. LaBianca so Susan Atkins could kill her, but neither girl could do it. Leslie called Tex for help, and he dragged Mrs. LaBianca into a bedroom, and stabbed her. Leslie stood at the doorway and watched in awe. Tex spun Leslie around, handed her a knife, and said “do something,” so Leslie approached Mrs. LaBianca, and stabbed her in the lower back sixteen times. Mr. LaBianca was stabbed numerous times, and the word “war” was carved into his stomach. Also, the words “rise,” “death to pigs,” and the misspelled “Healter Skelter” were written in blood throughout the murder scene. This led police to believe that these murders were connected to the Tate murders.
Manson told his followers to make the murders as gruesome as possible, and to leave clues, such as words, behind to make it look as if the blacks had committed the murders. Most of the phrases written in the murders were likely influenced by the Beatles’ “White Album.” This album had a song in it called “Piggies,” which was likely the reason Manson called his victims

While she could have simply began her story of her time with the Manson Bloggers in a more mundane fashion (ex. “I spent five days with the Manson Bloggers, and on the second day we spent together, they wanted to find the tree that Charles Manson used to sit in and play the guitar, but instead we found a tongue hanging from a tree branch.”) but that simply would not have held the same weight as describing the ten-foot cross looming in “right-angled judgment,” making the reader feel a sort of impending doom. This cluster of sentences are a perfect example of the high style, and because it is in the high style, that weight of the sentence is as heavy as it is. Monroe utilizes high style in her piece not to sway the reader into taking action, but to entertain. Everyone knows the story of Charles Manson, has some knowledge of the infamous crimes his cult committed, but it is unlikely that the public knows much about the intense following Manson accrued even after he was arrested, and for how long after his arrest did people keep their obsession of him and his “family.”
However, over the past 46 years, Van Houten has since renounced Manson and expressed remorse for her crimes. She has earned two degrees while in prison and has been a model inmate and has been a mentor to other inmates. During this time she has changed her perspectives a great deal. While under the influence of Charles Manson she had no remorse for her criminal behavior that led to murder. Her ability to change her morals while in prison shows that she has behavior skills that proves her values of intercultural knowledge.
On November twelfth, 1934, Kathleen Maddox brought Manson into the world in Cincinnati, Ohio. Kathleen was only a sixteen-year-old runaway at the time she met Manson’s father, a married man known as “Colonel Scott”. She eventually met and married William Manson, who gave Charles his surname. However, the marriage was short lived and William divorced Kathleen in 1939 for a variety of reasons that range from infidelity to abandonment. Two years later, she and her brother were arrested for armed robbery and Manson was sent to live with various relatives in West Virginia.

Over the next five months Manson instructs his followers to murder at least nine people. Manson never once takes part in any of the murders that he condones but does provide what his “family” will need to do so. In October 1967 Manson is arrested for charges of auto theft, while the authorities fail to make the connection to the murders. On January 25, 1971 the jury of the Tate-LaBianca trail finds all of the people involved guilty of murder and are all given the death penalty (umkc.edu). Manson is found guilty of nine counts of first degree murder and sentenced to death
Before the first day of testimony even began, Mr. Manson wanted to ask jurors “a few simple, childlike questions that are real to me in my reality”. He was denied. Then, during the voir dire, Manson stared at Judge Older before moving on to Prosecutor Bugliosi. Bugliosi raised the question during a recess, “What are you trembling about, Charlie? Are you afraid of me?”
I may have not answered completely accurately but there is only so much I know about his personal childhood life. Growing up, Charles Manson experienced a lot of upheaval and suffering. His mother, Kathleen Maddox, a sixteen-year-old single mother, gave birth to him in Cincinnati, Ohio (Myers, 2022). Manson's mother was unable to give him a secure upbringing, and he never met his father. The early years of Manson were marked by many movements because his mother struggled with destitution, alcoholism, and criminal activity.

Manson was viewed as the single undoubted leader who held all power in the organization. Manson worked to organize his followers to commit murder for him.
Manson’s mother Kathleen Manson-Bower-Cavender spent several years behind bars for robbery. This is a clear indication that she had the propensity to disobey the law. While this theory can explain how Manson’s behavior first started to develop, it does not explain how he began to refine his criminal mind. To answer this question we will use Edwin Sutherland’s
