The chickasaw tribe was located in Mississippi but they got forced out and into the southeast United states. The chickasaw were farmers and hunters. They always looked for their three main foods including corn, beans, and squash. They used animal skin for men and the women wore skirts and dresses.

They were never a big tribe, and their numbers diminished rapidly. Today their numbers are rising back and higher than they ever were. The Poncas were a small tribe of indians that had along history, were forced to move to Oklahoma, today they have a totally different way of life. The Ponca tribe was part of another tribe called omaha when it was formed in the great lakes region. They separated from the omaha in the early 1800s while they migrated to Nebraska and South Dakota.
The cherokee (chair-uh-kee) tribe was a tribe located in the southeastern part of the United States in states like Georgia, North and South Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Descendants now mostly live in Oklahoma. Many of the descendants now live in Oklahoma because of the Trail of tears which was the removal of Native americans by forcing them to Indian reservation, and if the tribes didn’t go by will the american army would force them.

The Ponca Tribe separated from the Omaha Tribe in the early 1800s and migrated west of the Great Lakes Region. In 1804, they were met by Lewis and Clark. At this time they had a very small population due to smallpox that killed more than half of their members. Lewis and Clark say they lived north of the Red River, but many think they have the Poncas confused with the Cheyenne Tribe. By 1870, the tribe had about 700 members.
Their forced mass migration would be later known as the trail of tears because one in four natives that would take the journey would die of either disease or starvation. The first group of natives to be forced to move was the Chickasaws. This tribe foresaw the removal as inevitable and they put up no resistance. They signed an agreement in 1832 which stated that the federal government would provide them with suitable land west of the Mississippi River and protection until the tribe moved west. However, the traditional Navajo diet contained eating boiled mutton and corn, which the corn was prepared in a range of different ways. Also they would obtain flour by taken it through a slight leavening process, then make it into the type of cooked over the embers small cake that is found with Mexican tortillas (Unknown, What Did The Navajo Indians Eat). They could have learned this by the Mexicans because they were so close to Mexico but also because they learned other crafty things from the Mexicans. Also the Navajo diet goat’s meat was a well-known aspect however pork and bacon was a largely disliked in the community (Unknown, What Did The Navajo Indians Eat).
Cherokee men wore a ribbon shirt also from a calico print material, and a ribbon design on the front and back. Most Cherokee nations were farmers, they ate mostly beans, corn, and squash. The agriculture and mythology of a culture has a large influence on the traditions and the way in which a culture behaves. Both agriculture and mythology play huge roles in every day lives of the community under which they thrive. Prior to the settlement of the thirteen colonies in the United States there were several differentiating groups of indigenous people that lived in communities through out the US. These people were the Native Americans and each tribe of these people had different ways of agriculture, mythology, and several other varying facets of life. The Cherokee is a tribe that still thrives currently and has 293,074 people in their population.
Have you ever had a family and a bright future in one place and were forced to move the place where you have lived for most and or all of your life? Well the Native Americans have or “The First Americans.” North America had people living in it long before the first explorers and settlers arrived. Unfortunately, they were pushed off of their land to make way for white settlers, who felt they had the right to own the land. Native Americans flourished in North America, but over time white settlers came and started invading their territory. Native Americans were constantly being thrown and pushed off their land. Sorrowfully this continued as the Americans looked for new opportunities and land in the West. When the whites came to the west, it changed the Native American’s lives forever. The Native Americans had to adapt to the whites, which was difficult for them.
The United States of America was once the home of a variety of Native American cultures living in tribes, some as allies and others as enemies. Some settled in the Americas long ago, others were fairly recent. Among the more recent tribes to have formed were the Seminole Indians. Although their ancestors settled in the Americas some 12,000 years ago, they were never known as the Seminoles till after European explorers discovered America (Carlisle). The Seminoles were originally part of the Creek Indians.
