Child Soldiers Initiative (CSI) is an organization that aims to make child-rights mandatory for police, armed forces and prison officials. The organization helps ex-child soldiers remember their legal rights. The association reminds the children that they are not the only one. Thousands have been taken and murdered by the hands of rebels. The healing process from the results of war requires a great deal of energy in some cases even a lifetime. CSI is a confronting center where child soldiers can figure out how to adapt to their past. This association will be very useful in terms of protecting and representing young boys such as Ishmael.

In the movie Blood Diamond when the men were attempting to cross the bridge the driver felt he could speak some sense into the young kid with the weapon and winds up getting shot or when the kids was seen carrying weapons bigger than themselves.

Sierra Leone Civil War in 1999, the film demonstrates a nation torn separated by the battle between government fighters and revolt strengths. The main character Solomon Vandy was captured by Revolutionary United Front (RUF) and separated from his family. The movie focuses on the blood that is spread to receive a diamond. The main cause of war in Sierra Leone. The book barely sheds light on the root of the war. The upside of this is the viewer can fathom the difficulties and attitude of the character. The upside of this is the viewer can comprehend the troubles and attitude of the character.
I feel the film Blood Diamond would work great with relating with A Long Way Gone on the grounds that Ishmael to himself was caught by RUF and isolated from his family.
