The primary focus of this paper is being able to vaccinate immigrant children once they are in the United States by developing a program. Immunizations have become an important tool that many countries use to protect themselves from disease thereby helping increase their population. Before immunizations diseases could wipe out much of a country’s population in less than a year. By using this tool to our advantage, we are helping to ward off certain diseases. One of the problems with re-emergence of diseases we thought we eliminated has been immigrant children bringing the disease to the US due to improper vaccination protocols in their country of origin or skipping vital vaccinations.
In studying Registered Nursing one will find that they have to be compassionate and want to care for others. Registered Nurses assist physicians with suffering patients of any medical condition. They help to decide the patient’s medicine, treatment, recovery, and educate the them and their families on post-medical treatment. They need to have bedside manner, and be able to prepare patients for surgery. Registered Nursing careers range anywhere from critical care, oncology, mental health, to an everyday school nurse.

The flu is one of the most commonly spread infectious diseases in the United States. Each year, between 5% and 20% of Americans will become infected with the influenza virus ("Seasonal Flu Q&A"). For the majority of those people, the symptoms associated with the flu-- fever, chills, dehydration, body aches, and vomiting-- are non life-threatening and typically only last for a couple of days. However, for people who become infected with the flu virus while being hospitalized for a different reason, the rates of serious flu-related complications are much higher. The most effective way to prevent the spread of the influenza virus is by receiving a yearly flu shot, but disappointingly, most hospitals in the United States do not require employees
I am a nurse with a powerful voice and the legislation of Ohio needs to hear what I have to say. As a community health nurse, with seven years of experience, I am going to meet with elected representatives to discuss the impact of childhood immunizations and exemptions on my practice. I will explain two ways in which I can become politically active, and discuss with current and future legislators the topic of childhood immunizations and exemptions, required for school entry. I will outline the current childhood immunization law(s) of Ohio, and how changes to legislations would impact my nursing practice. It is critical that as a nurse I am involved, and my voice is heard on this issue because it can affect the health of the community I serve.
Vaccination is a key factor in keeping communities safe from harmful diseases, especially those that can spread easily. However, pediatric immunization policy can be debated from an ethical perspective because it concerns the role of the government and families in maintaining the health of children. I will argue that the immunization requirements with exemptions for school entrance in Washington state are ethically required because they balance the role of the government in public health and personal autonomy in the most minimally intrusive way possible. Hendrix points out that pediatric vaccination, or the policies surrounding vaccination requirements for children, can “span several public health domains, including those of policymakers,
Being a part of a family that believes in vaccination, I also grew to believe it. Now that I am old enough to understand what it is and can find more reasons as to why we should have it. It made more a believer, that all children should be vaccinated. Children deserve to be safe and healthy. We are all entitled to our opinions, but there are many facts out there that can tell us reasons why vaccines are good for us.
This lack of vaccine administering allows the reemergence of infectious diseases to occur. These reemerging diseases pose a great risk to vulnerable populations and public health. It is in the best interest of public health workers to have anyone who needs to be vaccinated be vaccinated. However, the anti-vaccine campaign and its influential members do create a huge barrier for public health vaccination goals. Influential anti-vaccine campaign supporters, such as Lea Thompson, fuel the fire to these
Nurses are critical for promoting health in the society. The profession is highly flexible, since they specialize in diverse operations in the medical field. Registered nurses, for instance, are responsible for the administration of medicine and inoculations to patients (American Nurses ' Association, 2000). Additionally, these professionals observe, record, and enlighten doctors of any changes in a patient’s health. Nurses interpret and evaluate diagnostic examinations to determine an individual’s condition, as well as making the necessary adjustments in patient treatment plans on their health progress.
Required Immunity Mandatory vaccinations for children in public schools have been the center of much debate since laws were first developed to regulate immunization. Fears from parents about side effects and adverse reactions have steered many away from wanting to vaccinate their children despite the numerous infectious diseases they prevent. These debates have gotten in the way of progression in schools for preventing the spread of disease. To me, the risks of not vaccinating children are far greater than the risks of adverse reactions.
With the small amount of medical personnel, organizations such as PATH have trained personnel and offered inexpensive vaccines throughout the country. Many other countries have problems that stop people from receiving vaccines, such as wars or natural disasters that unfortunately take a higher rank over healthcare and vaccines. But there are also people and governments that don 't see vaccines as a priority. This is a major problem, so we have some proposed
Vaccinations When it comes to vaccinations, there are many different opinions on immunizing a child, especially when that child’s parent has a strong like or dislike towards vaccinating. Immunizations have existed for at least a thousand years and as technology advances more, there are new vaccines being designed to help protect our children from contracting contagious and sometimes deadly diseases, such as Bordetella pertussis, polio, and even influenza. For decades, all 50 states have required that parents vaccinate their children against various diseases, including polio and measles, as a prerequisite to enrolling them in public schools (Ciolli, 2008). Enrollment in public school requires up to date vaccinations in order to protect the children and even the adults from contracting and spreading a disease, possibly causing an epidemic.
Even if some families have problems with cost of vaccines there are some organizations that help with the
