There are three artifacts that demonstrate my ability to utilize digital communication and collaboration tools to communicate locally and globally with students, parents, peers, and the larger community. In my ITEC 7430 Internet Tools in the Classroom course, I was able to learn about a variety of Web 2.0 tools that make communicating and collaborating easier. These tools include a class website, Google Documents, and the app Remind.
Class Website: The Cardinal Mask Weebly The first artifact that demonstrates my ability to utilize digital communication and collaboration tools to communicate locally and globally with students, parents, peers, and the larger community is The Cardinal Mask Weebly. This class website provides information and resources to parents and students on various theatre-related topics. It provides strategies in both English and Spanish on how to achieve equitable access to technology resources. Using this Weebly site, I provided links to the school web page, the website Rebecca’s Journal, and various articles. This website allows me to communicate important information to students on the class blog. It also allows students to comment and communicate with me, as well as their peers.
Google Documents The second artifact that demonstrates my ability to utilize digital

The Remind is a web app that allows me to communicate safely with students and parents. Through Remind, I can send students and parents announcements, updates, links to resources, videos, pictures, and music. The students and their parents can receive notifications through text message and by email. Since Remind is a two-way communication app, I can also receive questions, videos, pictures, and music from students, as well as assignments
HUMN-101 Information Literacy Prof. Mica Racine Unit 1 Discussion Board (Sun) Mikey (Michelle) Lewis My reaction to this week’s discussion board scenario is that of anger for feeling cheated on the work I would have put forward. I have witnessed a similar situation in my first class, design 101. While reading the discussion boards I noticed a classmate copied almost an entire web page for her discussion post. I recognized it as something I had read before, because I had used that web page for my own research.
“In-Forming”, an app described as an individual 's ability to provide themselves with their own personal supply chain of information, knowledge, and entertainment, has impacted Danville by decreasing the amount of effort students have to put into their work and assignments, and by giving every person in Danville access to others in and out of the small town. Students of the Danville Area School District used to have to lug around large textbooks for every class, go to the library to find information for assignments, and write with actual writing utensils, but now, because of the world wide web, old standards required for learning have “left the building.” With a simple search for a textbook title on “Google,” students are able to access large
At Harmony School of Discovery we have a very tight knit group of students. When Discovery first opened as a new school it opened it’s doors to kids from everywhere and from every which background. Us students were forced to come together and start fresh with virtual strangers, leaving behind everything familiar. This reality forced us to build new bonds with people going through the same hurdles as us, adjusting to a new school and a disparate environment. We learned how to nurture and preserve close relationships among our classmates, relationships between teachers and students, and relationships between students and administration.
She taught students in the class how to navigate the University Library website in order to find credible and reliable sources for research papers. Soergel had several great recommendations for the class, such as showing students how to filter out results to save time looking through irrelevant articles.
Over the course of this first semester, Emily has actively participated in classroom discussions, adding thoughtful and detailed remarks to both the topic of discussion
My personal Artifact is a baseball my son and I caught at the Giants game. It is white, round, has red stitches, and is smooth when new, but when we caught it it was beat up and the blue writing on it was smeared. A baseball is small and light in size. It can be thrown at speeds up to 100 MPH, or hit at at speeds higher than 100MPH, so when playing the game or watching you should be paying attention at all times. A baseball is made of a rubber or cork center, wrapped in yarn very tight, covered by white leather with red stitching around the out side, making it a very hard ball.
This article explores the use of wikis in the literacy classroom. A discussion of the need for using new technologies such as these, an evaluation of wikis in regards to technology standards, example student wikis, and an evaluation of the effectiveness of wikis in the English classroom are provided throughout the article. Article Review: Sherry Sanden and Janine Darragh’s article “Wiki Use in the 21st-Century Literacy Classroom: A Framework for Evaluation” explores the use and effectiveness of wikis in the English Language Arts classroom.
The use of masks in theatre, both functionally and symbolically can be dated back to hundreds of decades ago, along with speculations that the earliest masks came from the Neolithic period. While it is yet unknown which civilization first created or developed masks, it is clear that the existence of these masks are not without justifications. The non-theatrical use of the word “mask” is often referred to as the concealing of “something from view”, usually the human face (Oxford Dictionary Online). However, in many different types of theatre, masks do not solely function for the purpose of concealing. The function of masks differs for different forms of theatre, and is dependent on the relevant attributing background factors.
Remind is an app built by teachers for teachers. Meanwhile higher education has found it useful as well. Remind seeks to connect teachers and students outside of the classroom for simple things as homework reminders or for communication with parents. Remind in higher education looks a little different. Remind is a messaging service that is one sided for the most part.
Introduction: Due to technological advances many websites such as Ponder and Wikipedia are being used, and have grown to be a primary source for research and reading. Ponder is a browser add-on that highlights words, phrases, and sentences and gives “micro-responses” to each of these. Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia that is written by volunteer editors. These new forms of research have become more evident in the classroom. However, are they really better than the more conventional forms of research, that is, using books and physical texts?

Classroom Observation Reflection Abrar Hilal University of Oklahoma Tuesday, February 12 Classroom Observation Reflection Special Education Classroom Report The special education classroom that I observed, included the main teacher, two teacher assistants, and ten students with Developmental Delays. The main teacher uses technology to aid the students to learn easy and faster. A smart board is present in the classroom, but the teacher doesn 't use it often as she prefers to use her own handouts and her specially created activities. I think this is effective as she can modify activities better and so that the students benefit from that personalized touch.

Erin’s desire to learn about her students stems from her determination to engage them in learning and not as an exercise in awareness itself. The diaries are used to inform Erin’s teaching techniques but are not central to her approach as it would be to the facilitator.
