In Columbia, South America, there is a large population of homeless people. During the 1990’s there was a population of around 40 million people, and many of the homeless population, were children. These children were on the streets of Columbia mostly on their own, begging for money and food. For the most part these children were unsupervised and left to their own devices. Slowly these children started disappearing, and unlike in most cities in the United States, when a child goes missing no one really notices. Slowly cases of missing children began to build up in different cities like Villavicencio and Bogata. Mother’s would be pleading with police investigators to find their child. Some cases had gone cold while others were still being pursued with no end in sight. In the town of Villavicencio Investigators discovered several mass graves with the remains of small children. There were signs of anal penetration and most of the victims if not all of them were beheaded and dismembered. It was concluded that the killer used knives and razors to kill his victims. At many of the crime scenes there was clothing left behind from both the victims snd the killer. Investigators often found rope fibers, empty liquor bottles and lubricants. The consistency of these crime scenes lead investigators to believe they were dealing with just one man. Most of the crime scenes where the bodies were discovered were in fairly well populated areas, so investigators could not understand why no one noticed these crimes taking place or smelled the rotting corpses. The reason for this is that certain areas of Colombia have very dense terrain and thick vegetation which makes for a perfect place to conceal bodies.
