Many people compare LeBron and Jordan in aspective of their respective generation, previous basketball experience, and stats during their time of playing. They have received many of the same titles, awards, and recognition during their careers, but how do they actually match up in a side by side comparison. The trend of who is better typically goes by who you ask; people who grew up with Jordan tend to choose him, while people who grew up with LeBron generally choose him. What the two of these fantastic players did on the court would seem to decide which was the better player. Before going into detail, something one must consider is that Michael Jordan was a shooting guard, while LeBron James is a small forward; the difference in position could possibly cause this to be an impossible comparison. Never the less, Michael Jordan’s excellent career has been marked by his personal awards, however focusing purely on his stats would lead to a better comparison. Jordan has a 49.7% career field goal percentage. This is on 30.1 points per game, to go along with 5.3 assists and 6.2 rebounds. On the other hand, LeBron also has a career 49.7% field goal percentage also, on 27.5 points per game. James edges Jordan with 6.9 assists and 7.2 rebounds per game. Emerick’s purpose is to prove that Lebron James is as good as the legends in order to have people realize Lebron’s greatness.
