In comparison, The Salem Witch Trials may have a much lower death toll of 20 executed but they share a common moral(Miller,). The innocent were permitted to death due to an opinionated individual. Also the way these deaths took place back then, majority were to be hung. The individuals who took control in both past events were Adolf Hitler and Abigail Williams. Hitler, was the leader of the National Socialist German Workers Party and was the cause of World War II (www.history.com). He convinced the world that a life with no jews was the best life. Considering Sztybel 's comparison between the holocaust and the oppression of animals and Stern 's argument against the comparison of cattle and the holocaust, I would say that both have their truths and neither of them are wrong. On Sztybel 's side, he is directly talking about the oppression of animals and the holocaust while making direct connections between the two. An example of this is when Sztybel says "using animals in laboratories is comparable to that which was used for subjecting Jews and others to 'scientific ' experimentation. " I find that there is nothing wrong with this statement because the two situations are comparable to each other.

What a Horrible World In today 's day and age we have more technological, medicinal, societal, and worldly advancements than we did in either 1692 or 1947, but we are still just as easily corrupted by jealousy, power, and paranoia. The years 1692 and 1947 are perfect examples of prospering societies that became undermined through very similar processes. In 1629 the Salem Witch Trials and in 1947 the McCarthy Communist Trials- were both held unjustly, involving condemnation based on unfair trial practices. People desperately admitted to being a witch (1692) or to being a communist (1947) only because they didn’t want to die. Even if you were found innocent your life was virtually over because your career and livelihood had been destroyed
