Middle School is different from elementary school in so many ways. Middle school is a larger harder version of your elementary school. In middle school you can pick elective classes that are fun and in most elementary's you cannot do that. Middle School academics are harder in general, you have to change classes and you must turn in all assignments on time. Following the many rules of middle school is harder than the simple rules of elementary. At school, quizzes and exams are taken very seriously, messing around and talking do not go without a consequence.
Most middle school will most likely have sports and other after school activities. Doing these activities is a good idea, because it will give you a chance to make new friends and compete
Korbey (2015) stated, the transition from middle school to high school is a big one, perhaps bigger than appeared at first blush. Ninth grade is difficult because it tells whether students graduate or not. When students move into high school it's so different. Willens,( 2013 ) When students start over they start to forget things. Ninth grade is the most important year because it tells if students graduate.
As a freshman the transition was some what difficult for me. These are somethings I think would be good to new for the middle schoolers that are tranistioning into highschool. First keep organized. I can 't stress that enough because if you don 't you will lose things really easy and become a real mess. Another thing is a personal opinion but I don 't think that going to your locker every passing period is a good idea.
Lots of people say that middle school is hard, has lots of responsibilities and you have to be on time for everything. Then I thought there weren 't serious till I actually went to middle school myself. Soon after elementary I went to a middle school that I went to was called Lincoln middle school, it wasn’t a big school, but it was a decent school. When I first went into that building I was excited to make new friends and meet my teacher, but then this lady that was the 6th grade dean(consular) gave me this piece of paper that had many classes on it and I ask her “why there are so many classes?”
High school and middle school are, in my mind, almost completely separate entities. Though, there is a lot to be said about the similarities between the two. High school has much more freedom than middle school has ever and will ever have. In high school students get to pick their own classes, get more food at lunch, and even participate in more activities. Middle school, on the other hand, is a very different ball game.
When I was in MacCracken middle school, I always wondered what it would be like when I went to Spartanburg high. I kind of wished someone would have told me what high school would be like. Now that I have been here for a year and a half, it is not that hard. I have managed to learn not only a lot in class but also a lot about Spartanburg High School and its people. Friendships and reasonability are areas that I think students in the eighth- grade student should know before they arrive.
The transition from Middle School to High School is extremely different on many levels. Many people that have already made their transition describe their Middle School experience as demanding and challenging. Be aware that in High School, you are given more freedom and opportunities. The size of the school is changed drastically. You need to come to the reality that you are surrounded by peoples who are four years older than you, adults.
School days are long and most of the time middle schoolers can 't wait to the end of school. That 's why recess should be there, it allows to enjoy sun or enjoy snow or whatever season. It also allows the kid to have su which is healthy for you also it gives you fresh air. Because otherwise a teenager could make a problem from having the lack of movement. One example is middle schooler boy who caused a disturbance got treated badly because sometimes he caused a disturbance and that hurt his self esteem.
In September, I will become a high school student. This make me feel very reluctance of leaving middle school. Five months ago, I was so naive(14) because I was unable to adapt to the new school and the new education mode. In the first few months, I was always irascible(14) about ELA’s homework, because the homework was too hard for me. After one month, I began to adapt to this new education mode.
Middle school is a very different time, a time to start discovering yourself. Many people figure out what makes them truly happy, or what they want to do with their life during this time. It’s also the road to high school, the last stop of your standard American education. As a middle school graduate, I’ve dealt with all the ups and downs, all the A+’s and the C-’s, all the old and new friends, and all the choosing of classes. Electives are the time to have something you enjoy in school, to pick what makes you happy, but also what will help you later.
Renee Forneris Mrs. Urda English 1B (7) 12 May 2015 “The starting point of all achievement is desire” (Napoleon Hill). No matter where a student goes to school whether it is at a junior high school or at Providence Catholic High School students who have desire will do well. However there are many differences between Troy Middle School and Providence Catholic High School. There are two main areas that they are different in and they are academics and athletics. Providence Catholic High School and Troy Middle School both focus on academics and athletics, however; Troy Middle School makes a more competitive experience and a creates a positive learning experience.
In the following comparative essay I will be discussing the literacy of practices used outside of school for pleasure by comparing and contrasting the reading, writing and digital literacy use of British Asian girls and Welsh girls and how this has influenced or affected their bicultural and bilingual identity using information from an article written by Susan Jones in 2006, as well as information I’ve gained from my lectures and own personal experience. Literacy practices includes everything you read and write. If you are reading and writing for pleasure you are choosing what you want to read or write in your free time. Fry suggests that “what we choose to read, or simply the books we have in our possession, are indices of the ways in which we want to be seen and the ways we see ourselves”(Fry, 1985, p.96). The Welsh girls are more comfortable with reading welsh as the texts are more contemporary in nature compared to the texts which the British-Asian girls read but they still choose to read texts that are English as there is not a large variety of magazines and novels available in Welsh.
Both High Schools and Middle school are tailored towards giving their students the knowledge that they need to learn. The physical environments, as well as the organizational routines, tends to be very similar, yet the feeling and psychological backdrop differs. A middle school is more of an older child's playground while junior high school is a simulation of the real world. Middle schools tend to be student oriented while junior high schools are subject
My old high school, Ramona High School, is described as a small campus. The current population of students is around two thousand. The school’s diversity is low, and about seventy percent of the student body consists of Hispanics in our school. The school ranks low in many categories; schools grades, and test scores are below average. People consider that our school is “ghetto”, when in reality it is not.
Seventy percent of sixth graders get bullied because it is their first year of middle school. Most sixth-grade students are often bullied because of their age and grade. When you are in middle school, you get better privileges than in elementary school. You get better privileges because you are getting older and growing up. Most sixth graders are anxious about being in a new and bigger school.
There will be a lot of tutoring opportunities if you are struggling with a subject. Also, know your teachers and coaches are there for you. The social life in high school will change drastically over the years. The friends you have now 90% of the time won’t be the friends you end up with.
