The Declaration of Sentiments: The Declaration of Sentiments is a document written by Elizabeth Cady Stanton regarding the 19th Amendment. The Declaration outlines the rights that American women should have. The Declaration of Sentiments was written at Seneca Falls Convention in New York in July of 1848. Her purpose of writing this document was to support the issue of women’s rights and improve the civil and legal rights of women guaranteed by the Constitution.

Susan B Anthony was a woman advocating women's suffrage. She recognized that without the right to vote women would keep fighting the same battle for equality over and over again. She traveled many miles, giving hundreds of speeches, gathering thousands of signatures on a petition to press for womens suffrage.One way the documents are the same is they both have the same wording. One example of this is they both say, “We hold these truths to be self-evident.” Another way they are the same is they both state “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” One way the Declaration of Sentiments is different from the Declaration of Independence is that the Declaration called for a range of women’s rights , including the right to equal education, the right to vote, and the right to equal treatment under the law. Another way the Declaration of Sentiments is different from the Declaration of Independence is that the document states that all women are born with the same rights as men and that men have been taking those rights, the same way that King George III did the the founding fathers of the country. One way the Declaration of Independence is different from the Declaration of Sentiments is that the document was an outline for all suffering men of the colonies as a whole.
