Extracurricular activities play a vital role to prepare children for life. Extracurricular activities are important because they can benefit a student through personal, educational, and even social means. Through extracurricular activities children learn many skills and knowledge that they can use in the future. They learn leadership, teamwork, organization, analytical thinking, problem solving, time management. When the students participated in the sports activities will benefit their health. Normally the students who participated in the extracurricular activities are healthier than those who are not participated. Sports exist at the core a societal foundation. Sports allow for a wide range of ways to get involved from involvement to spectatorship. The youth spend their days playing and fascinating over sports, similar to that of an adult, elderly, ect. Neither the appreciation nor the excitement of sports and athletic events differ by age. Some would say sport play such a big role in society because of their ability to incorporate life lessons into a fun activity, while other think the fascination of sports exist as the problem.
Previously I thought a teacher only needed to know if the child was developing correctly and all student where treated equally. Although there are still some of this in play I have now taken a different approach. One of the interesting issue I learnt from this week was Development Appropriate Practice. Using knowledge about a child development, abilities, development of key milestones to create a plan that is suitable for the age and stage of their development. Understanding what is culturally and socially acceptable as well as individual appropriateness are just as important.
Did you know athletes in high school have 11% higher graduation rates and have up to 40 percent higher test scores that non athletes. Sports in high school are important and give kids more of a chance at succeeding in life and they should stay in high school to help kids find what they are best at. Sports can also help kids gain confidence in what they do a science study shows and it can help them push themselves to be better people. Being active can also improve your grades and help you learn how to use teamwork in situations.

With seven years experience teaching English, History, Economics, Geography, Media, Art and Food Technology, I am proficient with using and following the VCE, AusVELS, VCAA, International Baccalaureate and National Curriculum Guidelines to plan, write, implement and assess units for years 7-12, including SAT's and SAC's. All students deserve to be treated fairly as individuals. When considering the diversity of the class members, we will celebrate the uniqueness that the differences contribute. Because I have high expectations that all my children can be successful, adjustments may be necessary because everyone is not the same (Burden, 2017, p. 115). It is vital that a spirit of understanding and edification is active amongst the students and from the teacher (Romans 14:19, King James Version) to produce fruits of mutual respect: reduced bias, positive academic outcomes, enhanced problem solving, and healthy group dynamics (Cousik, 2015, p. 54). For differences that stem from culture, gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status, the adjustments will involve bridging the cultural gap between the students’ diversity and the curriculum.
Students who are more active in participating extracurricular activities are observed to benefit from various opportunities that come in their way especially in career path. Advantages for taking part in extracurricular activities includes higher standardised test scores, high educational attainment, getting better grades, attending classes on regular basis and have higher self-concept and confidence. Students who participate in outdoor activities learn skills including leadership and teamwork whereas reducing the percentage of getting involved in other harmful activities like (taking drugs, alcohol use and other health related issues). Various researchers have analysed number of ways where Extracurricular Activities (ECAs) are advantageous for students.
