The Fault In Our Stars Question 1: The Fault in our stars was introduced when Hazel was forced to go to support group by her mom. While in support group she noticed a cute guy sitting not so far from her. Furthermore, finding out that he was a survivor of cancer and revealing his fear of oblivion. Hazel proves that the fear of oblivion was dumb because even though they maybe won’t experience it the future generations will get a taste of it. From that opinion came a beginning of their friendship. Hazel tells him about her cancer of lungs category 4 to his not cigarette smoking taken as a metaphor. They started to hang out, but in one night Hazel couldn’t breath, she thought to the flashback of her mom saying she wouldn’t be a mother anymore. She survived the operation the next day getting out of the hospital, she checked her page on the computer to find out about a girl named Caroline. Through her pictures she can see Augustus plus the comments about all the people who missed her. Learning herself, she is a grenade that if people get too close to her they will feel more pain throughout time, she begins to only stay in her room to read books for the rest of her life. I like my choices.” I feel a connection to this to the way society is today. There is bullying, sickness, etc., but they can’t hurt you if you don’t let them. In the end when Augustus says this quote to Hazel I felt a little emotional because even though he knew about her sickness he came all the way till this moment. Delivering the say that her cancer was nothing it is something that she can just let it be. In the beginning when she first met Augustus she didn’t have any hobbies the only thing she had was a story of her life having cancer. Which wasn’t the important part, when she met him she forgot about what she couldn’t do and was determined to reach her
