How to become a good mentor To become a good mentor, we need to understand the metal model of the mentee. If we don’t understand that we won’t be able to guide the mentee properly. We need to know what type of relation needs to be maintained, whether it should be formal or informal. The informal relation is a very spontaneous kind of relationship. Many a times we have received guidance from an experienced person which is kind of informal relation that we establish with him/her. An informal mentoring also happens between the peers and supervisors. The formal mentoring setup happens depending on the intentionality, the person asks to get or give help.
