CVS takes this very seriously as people develop their perceptions of a company not simply from press releases and advertisements but also from employees. Employees who are known as the “face” of a business are impacted by what they see and hear coming through the organization and not only in a formal way. These are the individuals who project an image and paint a perception of the company. Like most organizations, CVS stores are composed of a Store manager, assistant managers, supervisors, and regular employees. Most organizations lack effective communication between employees but after working for them for 6 years, I never felt that way in my store. If I had an issue that was affecting my work performance, the store manager would take a few minutes of his time to communicate with me and see how we can solve the problem. In addition, in the break room, we had a board where we would communicate messages to each other. If an employee who worked over night had to address an issue with the Manager, he/she would give the message to the supervisor on duty and also write it on the board ( not the issue- but that he/she needed to speak to manager ) to make sure the message was delivered. CVS has always managed to develop and maintain a strong organizational culture which gives the company many benefits such as enhanced mutual trust

It is obvious that CVS only cares about how many scripts they can generate with the least amount of staff possible. The customer service that CVS provides is much different from Hy-Vee. Although Hy-Vee is still concerned with how many scripts they fill, their number one priority is customer service. Hy-Vee constantly stresses that we need to treat our patients like family. That means taking time out of our busy day to counsel each patient on their medications instead of just ringing them out.

They sit in meetings and discuss new procedures, advertising campaigns and communicate only through memorandums and email when there are new products or if displeased. The corporate mission includes valuing and taking care of the people who are Super Subs to the customers. I believe that this is an issue because store managers and employees should feel like there is an open line of communication between their store and corporate. Corporate notices all these problems within the store, but don’t send any corporate office personal to visit and see what the issue is.
