Electric vehicles are becoming more of a reality every day. Even living in a small town in Mississippi, I have noticed a slow, but gradual increase in the number of electric vehicles present on the road. Many major car companies have decided to produce electric vehicle alternatives for consumers to purchase. There are several main reasons why people are deciding to go green. Electric vehicles have become more appealing because of their nonharmful effects on the environment, availability of new charging stations, and cost-efficient charging. One reason electric vehicles are becoming more of a reality is because of the harmful effects of gas and diesel cars on our environment. People do not notice the harm of their single car because of …show more content…
Frangoul states in CNBC’s article, “One of the current challenges for EVs is ensuring there are enough charging stations for longer journeys to be completed,” (Frangoul). Frangoul describes how electric vehicles rely on electricity instead of being gas powered, creating the need to stop at local charging stations. Electric vehicles face the challenge of range, the problem being a full charge does not last as long as a tank of gas or diesel would. The driver will incur more frequent stops if driving an electric vehicle on a long journey. Some consumers might get agitated about the long wait while having to charge their cars. Austin and Lefevre state in the IEEE’s article, “Chicago, IL and Austin, TX are committed to create a network of charging stations, such that nobody will ever be more than five minutes from one,” (Austin and Lefevre). This evidence represents the major efforts that cities in the United States are putting forth to build new stations for convenience. Access to more charging stations will give new electric vehicle owners more options. Furthermore, the driver will be able to complete long journeys with ease. Charging up at these stations is also a more cost effective alternative than stopping at a gas …show more content…
Consumers are starting to realize the positive effects that electric vehicles have to offer. They have become increasingly aware of the excessive amounts of emissions that gas powered vehicles are producing. These emissions contribute to climate change and health concerns. The long-term savings are also attracting the interest of buyers
How bad are the alternatives to Electric Engines? The main alternatives for electric vehicles currently are diesel, petrol and biofuel powered cars. Each have their own advantages and disadvantages, and all greatly outweigh the EV as we know it in terms of practicality. However, environmentally and financially they seem to have catastrophic consequences.
- Only a few buildings related to electric cars, such as charging centres and repair shops, are constructed in populated cities. This is inconvenient when customers are in an urgent to charge up their cars. Opportunities - The price of gasoline has been increasing in the recent years due to their high demand and limited supply. Therefore, more people may choose to purchase electric cars instead of gasoline-powered automobiles.
I agree with Mark Hertsgaard, the author of “Big Electric Shocks Big Oil”, because there are many things that are very clearly stated facts about California. “SB 350 envisions cutting greenhouse gas emissions to 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2030” (Hertsgaard, 2015)can be considered an inductive example because it is not promising that the emissions level will be cut but it is highly likely it will be. On the other hand a deductive example would be “30,000 electric vehicle chargers in office buildings, apartment complexes, and parking lots in the next four years at a cost of $355 million” (Hertsgaard, 2015) I agree with this statement because of how expensive it is to build these chargers.
Cars are the most important products in the modern lifestyle. Whether it’s going to work, school, the mall, or even your friend’s house, it’s likely that you will be using a car to get there. As you all know, cars can have drastically different prices and look drastically different as well. I’m sure everyone here has a car, and I’m also sure everyone here will be buying another car in the future. Whether you want a car that can fit a large amount of people, or a sports car that can go extremely fast, an electric car will almost always be the best option for you.
First of all, let’s talk about the environment. I’m sure you all know about greenhouse gases and global warming, so I won’t talk much about that, but you may not know that road vehicles produce 10% of all man-made greenhouse gas emissions. This does include vehicles other than cars like trucks, but Tesla just came out with an electric truck which is faster and can carry more weight than any petrol/diesel truck. Greenhouses gases carbon-dioxide and methane have hit their highest levels in the past 420,000 years, and the extent of arctic sea ice has declined about 10% in the last 30 years. This is all because of global warming, and if we start switching to electric cars, we could make a big difference and maybe, just maybe the effects of global warming will decrease.
“Why Electric Cars are the Future” Introduction Attention Getter: It was Sunday at park, two college students were discussing about cars. One of them said that imagine about two decades ago, it appeared there was no effective alternative to the gasoline and oil, but now there is a better, cleaner, and more effective substitute to them: electricity. Although electric engines are not so widespread, more and more people consider changing their gasoline-fueled vehicles to electric cars. Then I discovered why electric cars are the future.
Soumya Saji Ms. Patiño English 2/16/18 Global warming as became a huge concern for today’s world. The rise of alternative fuel sources is to help this worldwide problem, as a result, electric cars have started to become a familiarity to everyday roads. Electric cars have many benefits and potentially does help with global warming, but it may not be as environmental-friendly as advertised.
A lot of people love to hear about energy efficient and environmentally friendly options out there. The electric vehicles today serve great benefits in keeping emissions down and using a more friendly alternative energy source. In my opinion they have made an impact on the environment, but a major benefit in using this alternative resource is less cost to fuel the vehicle. Gasoline is very expensive today, and using the energy that is used to power our home, is much less expensive and more available than gas. The environment, as claimed by environmentalists, suffers due to the emissions of automobiles today.
In most cases, the driver can safly make it to a gas station before their vehcile stalls from lack of fuel and if they are not lucky enough to make it there, then they find their way on foot to the nearest gas station or they call for roadside assistance to get enough fuel in the car to get it running again. Now, the electric car market domain is asking consumers to picture themselves is the very same situation, only this time, their car is powered only by electricity. There is likely no roadisde assistance that came come and rapidly replace the power in your electric battery and instead of having a gas station every couple of miles, there is a charging station all the way on the other side of the city. For many consumers, this hurdle alone is enough to stay away from an electric vehicle. But once consumers do take the plunge, they are going to want to know that the technology at local charging stations works rapidly to give them a boost to their next stop.
2012, pp. 168). TESLA depends highly on consumer behaviour, and consumer ability and confidence. As long as it is cheaper to buy and maintain a fuel or hybrid drive vehicle, electric vehicles are only to a few people attractive. Social: The growing environmental consciousness upon consumers enables TESLA to increase its brand awareness and encourage potential customers to buy an eco-friendly car which also includes sportive and luxury characteristics.
1. INTRODUCTION The following chapter will illustrate the background of the research, will introduce the topic of discussion and it relevance, will state the hypothesis and provide with some additional relevant information and with overview of the structure of the paper. 1.1. The background and hypothesis statement Analyzing existing markets, it was easy to assume that the most demanded fields are also the most profitable.
Gasoline-powered cars have been on the market since 1886 and have been developing ever since. These cars have been some of the most advanced technology we have, starting with front, back, and all wheel drive which most electric cars are only back wheel drives which is only for clear roads. Gas cars are now coming out with wifi inside their cars and brand new gear. As it states in the article Why Electric Cars Are Our Future, “first-generation electric vehicles such as the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf have failed to gain significant market share in their first years of availability.” Which goes to show that the downfall of being a electric car dealership owner will deplete the profit you make until you finally sell one vehicle.
but it’s hard to make it happen and make everyone to use it because it run slower and few distance than normal car. Now a day fuel is more expensive and most making carbon dioxide in human activity [ 1] and electric car is developed enough to run on the road like normal car that we can see on the road. Thesis Statement: The Electric car have several features that make it as the future of every car. Body1 Topic sentence: Electric car did not make pollution. Support idea: zero pollution Support detail: It use electrical energy instead of fuel that not making carbon dioxide to the air or any pollution to the nature.
When gasoline prices rises, the cost of running a vehicle rises. So, the demand for cars decreases. People tend to buy cars with low mileage per gallon. Now days, many consumers prefer hybrid cars over conventional cars. Hybrid cars are a substitute for conventional cars.
Environmental issues have been a heavily debated topic lately, and technology advancement have been very closely related to these issues. Electric car have been one of those inventions that haven’t really been widely accepted, which could be a possible way to reduce oil usage and carbon dioxide level. Whether or not electric car is better than traditional gasoline car is an issue that worth a term of research and discovery, because is a very significant issue that can affect the larger population. This issue that I would like to write on this semester is whether electric cars worth the national switch. First of all, I am very interested in this topic, and I believe obtaining a sufficient amount of knowledge on technology can be very important,
