The United States Constitution is considered to be more concise, as well as much older than constitution of other nations worldwide. Although, the United States Constitution is mature, there are such a limited number of amendments that have been added to the Constitution since it was created. The 27th amendment was the last amendment that was added to the constitution in 1992. During the early stages of the constitution it was a controversial document during the conventional debates. The Constitution was written on May 25 through September 17, 1787. For example, the first amendment shouldn’t be changed, being that it gives us the rights and means to express or state what they desire. Without the rights allocated by the First Amendment, would not be able to speak freely, pursue the media, and or assemble to petition. Society is experiencing a change in morals, and many of the amendments don’t apply. The 13th and 21st amendments are a couple that could be seen as needing to be removed or ratified because they are simply not in use anymore, alcohol is legal and servitude and slavery isn’t even instituted into the justice system as a punishment. This ratification or removing of these amendments goes against the 1st amendment, because in many eyes around the world and in our nation, there still is slavery but it’s hidden and covered up.
Furthermore, the 18th amendment is also being tested in many states as to where the 18th amendment made the production and distribution of alcohol legal in the United States. In North Carolina on sundays it is illegal to buy alcohol on sundays before 12pm and this ultimately goes the 18th amendment, putting a restriction to the time when people can buy alcohol goes against what's put into place. With the wrongdoings done to the 9th, 13th, 18th, and 21st amendment, change should be brought to make these amendments fit into today's
