The characters named Romeo and Juliet are introduced to each other at a mascaraed ball, which then the two soon begin to fall for each other and later realize there families are rivals of each other. While both soon fall deeply in love they know they are destined for great things but are more likely to be punished for loving ones kind. In the play both Romeo and Juliet chose the fate of love rather then waiting for there Destiny’s which there families have put in place for them. After multiple times of being punished, separated and bashed on for loving ones kind repeatedly the two chose to stay together. If both Romeo and Juliet would have ignored their fate of love and instead followed family tradition in hating ones kind Romeo nor Juliet would not have been able to experience the emotional fulfillment they had with one another. Being that fate is a matter of personal being, Fate can change anyone and any story. Fate is something similar to the butterfly effect, The butter fly effect is a series of events which happen in ones life changing certain outcomes or courses which are bound to happen in the future. For example an ordinary man with a drug problem has a choice between sobering up or to follow his drug addictions where ever they may take him, the man then chooses to sober up causing the butterfly effect to take place and change the remaining course of his life. By setting this benchmark and choosing his fate of wanting to be sober and live a healthier life shaped his future making a new and well deserved destiny. By choosing the fate of living a free life, wanting love or even creating a healthier lifestyle, In the end each decision becomes someone’s destiny. Destiny is never promised to always remain the exact same as intended once
Fate is one of the many themes in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. In the play Friar Laurence says, “Wisely and slow. / They stumble that run fast.” (2.3.93-94). This quote establishes the theme of fate because it shows that Romeo and Juliet are going very fast with their relationship and are fated to stumble.
At some point in our life, there would be a time to ask ourselves: what is the true meaning of destiny, the word always associated with fate? Can it be controlled by humans or changed? Is it something that is decided already by the heavenly forces or is it a work-in-progress? The definition of this word is subjected to changed from person to person due to the differences in culture, religion, personality, character, and such. However, regardless of how a person defines the word, they will experience a chain of events leading to the discovery of their own fate.
Fate is the outcome of an event that has been destined to you. Your fate is the journey you take to get to something greater, or to discover what has been holding you back. In Revenge of the Sith, Anakin Skywalker was known to the prestigious jedi as the chosen one. He would end the war and return peace to the galaxy.
Page 4-5 Destiny & Fate, Effects on dreams Destiny and fate correlates with the theme that dreams will fail and die. Characters do not decide their destiny. However, they do decide their dreams. A character's fate and destiny affects their dreams. Whether their dreams come true or not, has many contributing factors.
Predestination can initiate true love in individuals, which means that fate controls true love and it is inevitable. While some people think that fate has nothing to do with true love, there is evidence to prove that fate has a direct impact in initiating true love. Romeo and Juliet is evidence to the fact that fate can initiate true love because it says, “Some consequence yet hanging in the stars… By some vile forfeit of untimely death.” (Shakespeare 23)
In our lives, people believe that destiny controls our lives and that when things happen it 's for a reason. In into the wild by Jon Krakauer and Oedipus, by Sophocles, it shows us strong examples of destiny. Into the wild shows us destiny when Chris Supertramp goes through many hardships like his car being in a flood and the battery dying. When this happens he has to leave his car behind but is happy because it looks like it was destiny to shed access things and walk up to Alaska meeting new people along the way and making friends that supported him in his endeavors. It was also his destiny to find the bus and eat wild pea plants and die.
Fate versus Free Will Throughout both Sophocles “Antigone” and William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” fate and free will play a major role in Romeo and Antigone’s lives, but ultimately fate can take the blame for causing the chain of events in the novels. Romeo makes rash decisions and choices which determines his fate for him. The same can be said about Antigone, they both use free will which in the end determines each of their fates.
In life we can't always control what happens to us. We will always make choices that are better then others, and there will also be consequences along with them. Some examples would be like befriending people. We've been taught that the people around us are the once that influences us. Sometimes we don't choose the right person to befriend.
Conflicted with their multiple impending fates, the individual has a choice to either embrace their uncertain fate, knowing they cannot prevent such, or reject their uncertain destiny, becoming negligent toward the possibilities of what is to come.
Life in general gives you two options. Either we accept them or we do something that will lead us to that destiny. It’s a tramp. We fall into it. Catch-22 it’s a perfect example of the way people fear.
Star Crossed Lovers In Romeo and Juliet their are not many events that are coincidental. Romeo and Juliet are the result of pre-determined destiny. Some people compare pre-determined to fate, this means people can not change things. The two teens could not control which families they were born into. The Montague's and the Capuley's have been enemies for some time.
William Ernest Henley once said, “ I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.” In other words, I think this quote means that William Ernest Henley believes that we all are in charge of our own fate. Some people believe that our future is always changing because of every decision we make and some people believe that the future is set in stone and no matter what we do there's only one outcome. William Shakespeare has written many great works, including Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare, in his play, Romeo and Juliet, shows the truth of this statement because Romeo made the decision to physically kill himself.
But destiny is a group of events will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future. Fate is inevitable, but destiny is not. As we cannot determine fate, and the things going to happened in the future, we can control ourselves and the way we will
Verona, a city in which a pair of “star-crossed lovers” and all of its citizens overall, blame the “greater power,” fate, to veil their own actions. Fate and free will, both play a major part in Romeo and Juliet. However, only one of the two is actually true. On one side, fate supposedly controls the character’s destiny. But they are completely unaware that it is actually their free will and their own actions in which they are in control of.
The theme of Fate vs. Free Will is dominant in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet; however the theme of fate is more significant than free will. In the play both Romeo and Juliet meeting was contributed by fate as Shakespeare mentioned in the prologue that Romeo and Juliet were star-crossed lovers that were meant to meet, fall in love and their death would be the reason for the feud to end between the two families. Fate was the reason Capulet’s servant asked Romeo and Benvolio to help him read the invitation for him that contained all the names of the people that were invited to the ball Capulet hosted. “…If you be not of the house of Montagues, I pray come and crush a cup of wine.
