One of the many reasons why I should be selected as a member of 2018-19 YSLT is because I have good grades. This year so far my grade point average is a 4.0. I constantly work on getting good grades, and on extracurricular activities. In conclusion, I will make sure that time is spent well if I am selected as a member of the 2018-19 YSLT.
Outside of receiving a great education, I think the program really focuses on creating leaders and community members. The program also has a great network of alumni, not to mention the campus looks amazing,” was Ajjarapu’s response when I asked him why he wanted to go to the University of Virginia and his desire towards the Jefferson Scholarship. There is no doubt that, if Ajjarapu receives the Jefferson scholarship, he will be put in the position to succeed through the
After reviewing the course catalog and seeing the types of classes offered, I believe this program will prepare me to reach my goals. I also have a lot to offer the program including coming from a diverse background, my personal experience, and my work
Why I want to be a member of Alpha Phi Alpha I want to become a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporation for many reasons. One of the main reasons I would like to be a member, is for the fact that I would like to belong to a brotherhood.
Being able to connect with the community and with my peers will be a valuable and unforgettable experience. Not only will I be able to learn from the community, but from my fellow peers, medical students, high school students, and other undergraduates as well. Getting to me mentored by people who have done what I want to do will be enriching, it’ll be an experience that ill cherish forever. Creating long lasting friendships with people who have similar interest.
To be a Presidential Scholar, is to be someone striving towards achievement, bounding at the given opportunity to learn, and grow. It is someone who is determined to accomplish the dream they have set before themselves, wherever that path may take them, whether it be on rough terrain, or on an asphalt pavement. No matter how hard it may be to get there, a Presidential scholar is a person who has earned their spot to a successful career, they have gone through much technical education, has exceptional ability, and a distinct accomplishment in the desired career they have chosen. I believe I am a Presidential Scholar, I am that someone who is striving towards achievement, who is bounding at the opportunity to learn, who is determined to achieve the dream I have put before myself.
My Interest in the multicultural organizations such as HASA (Hmong American Student Association), InterVarsity, Greek community and much more that will enhance my communication skills, social interactions, and definitely the chance of becoming a great
I am accustomed to a rigorous course load and having to manage my time. Being a part of the Honors College, surrounded by those who share the same ideals and high standards as I do, will only further my success. Living in an academically inclined environment would allow for me to make great working relationships and friendships! Not only that, but the Honors College provides many opportunities for study groups and extra help; which will be rather beneficial considering I am planning on majoring in biochemistry. I would be an exceptional candidate for the Honors College because I am not only interested in getting a fantastic education, but I want to get involved in the school and make my college experience the best that it can be.
Now being at Rowan University I enjoy my profession and practice course as well as my life span development course. All three professors did not make the course dreading with meaningless homework. They would make sure you studied exactly what you needed to study, they gave you assignments that would help you with your career goals, the professors made the course a course that you can say you enjoyed and took something from it. So attending grad school is something that I find will be useful so I can be exactly where I need to be and gain all the experience and then some before working the youth.
When I was 14, I saw my remarkable cousin walk across the stage to receive her award for all her years of dedication to be inducted into National Honor Society. She encompassed all the requirements for entrance into the National Honor Society and ever since then, I have had my mindset on following in her footsteps and stepping even farther to conquer the indefinite. As I opened the letter to be invited to apply for membership, I could not even remember the last time my eyes and smile sprouted that immense because to me, being nominated to be a member of the National Honor Society is an honor in itself. I would be thrilled to join such a society because of the limitless opportunities it would present to me. Joining NHS would allow me to grow as a person and do as much as I can for others.
According to Google maps, right now it would take me only thirty-six minutes to get to Georgetown. But I do not need Google maps, I know how to get there like the back of my hand. I essentially I grew up in Georgetown. I was born at Georgetown University’s hospital (along with two other screaming baby girls minutes after me, aka my triplets). I used to drive every day with my family to Georgetown’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center for my mother’s cancer treatment for four years and I still continue to visit her old nurses and doctors today.
Growing up, my parents taught me to find ways to give back and to leave places better than I found them. I believe speech pathology is an excellent way for me to achieve that. I have a cousin named Jesse that struggled with a speech impairment when we were little; what I took for granted with speech did not come easily to him. Every day, Jesse struggled to communicate with others and with his self-confidence. As he worked with a speech therapist, it not only improved his communication skills, but changed his life as he felt confident speaking with others.
I was accepted into this unique, intensive program, which secured my interest and passion for this school. Through the Global Young Leaders Academy (GYLA) residential program at Wharton, I met some of the most amazing Wharton faculty, staff, and students; I felt so comfortable on campus being a part of this college community. Moreover, I was very fortunate to meet peers who shared the same interests as me, current students who shared their personal experiences of what it would be like being a Wharton college student, and professors who inspired me. Additionally, I enjoyed being surrounded by people who sparked my curiosity and growth challenging me intellectually beyond what I have ever imagined. I want to experience this same level of rigor during my college years and know Penn’s academics will fulfill this challenge.
This scholarship is a wonderful opportunity for students of GVSU, and I am honored to be considered for this scholarship. I believe that I am a great applicant for this scholarship, and that I deserve this scholarship. One reason I deserve this scholarship is because of my strong academic courses. Throughout my high school career, I pushed myself academically by taking a total of 10 AP classes and 7 honors classes. These classes were all challenging, yet I pushed through with determination to complete the classes to the best of my ability.
