The State of Consciousness lab was aimed to observe the modification that occurs in a person’s behavior as a result of experiencing a drug addiction. Throughout the experiment will be monitored the independent and dependent variables. The independent variable which was constantly modified throughout the lab was the amount of the drug taken. The dependent variable, which is directly affected by the independent variable, was the level of addiction experienced. The addiction symptoms and behavior will be more severe after a more constant use of the drug.
The Eyescube Drug Addiction Stimulation was an opportunity for me to experience the drug addiction without actually being addicted to a drug. During the day it was easier to obtain my eyescube since I do not consume as much liquid throughout the day as I do in the morning. However, it was still challenging to come up with adequate explanations of my unusual behavior. The most challenging part was to explain to our friends, to whom we went for Thanksgiving dinner, why I preferred a cup rather than a glass for my drink. I explained to them that I really liked the new set of cups that they got and I wanted to use one of the cups instead of a glass. Surprisingly, the following explanation worked even known it arouse some mild suspicion about my behavior. Still, no one really questioned my unusual behavior.
At the same time during the experiment I had to wear regularly a length of string as a symbol of my addiction. Overall, the following aspect of my addiction was the easiest to be hidden. My official explanation for wearing the string was that it is a friendship bracelet that had to be worn all the
