I had my first online class in 2014 a few years ago when I majored in Information Technology. I became joyed because online education provided me with more privacy and space for concentration in studies, I would study in my room or a quiet library without any disturbance, moreover; without any disruptive classmates. I apprehended that online education has taught me more than the few lazy teachers I would have before. Teachers who would follow an agenda and gave instructions, but never truly stand and taught. I found Online Education the same with the only greater exception that teachers online provided enough information on links, videos, instructions and guidance through emails, anything needed to complete tasks and learn the materials. As of 2014, at least 25% of the student population at American universities and colleges had taken at least one online course. In addition, employers can access experts or gather employees in distant locations for training sessions, saving time and money and improving the training experience (pp.671-672). Just like on-campus students, distance learning students as well contribute in this world. Some reluctance exists to see distance learning as equal on-campus learning (Gale, 2015). Online Education provides the equal amount of workload, study hours, and it should not be looked down upon than the students attending classes on campus; hence it shouldn’t be presented with a lower contribution effort from those to on-campus students. Yet a meta-analysis released by the US Department of Education in June 2009 suggests that online learning may be the way of the future.
