In the 1774, the first Continental Congress was put together. The Congress was a meeting of delegates from all except one of the thirteen colonies. They all met to discuss what shall be done about the “Intolerable Acts” that was being passed as a response for the” Boston Tea Party”. The meeting elected fifty-six delegates from the colonies except Georgia. Georgia did not want to upset Britain because they required help from Britain about Georgia’s Native American problem.
The world has always had battles that people will always remember like the Lexington and Concord and the Capture Of Savannah battle. Lexington and Concord was the first battle that Great Britain lost to America. The Capture Of Savannah, however, was the first battle in the south that the British won. The battle of Lexington and Concord was the first engagement of the American Revolutionary War. Lexington and concord and capture of Savannah battle are significant because one it was the beginning of the British push in the south.
On September 5th, 1774 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the first Continental Congress meeting was held in Carpenters Hall. Fifty-Six delegates from all of the colonies attended that meeting except for Georgia. Some of the Fifty-Six delegates were Patrick Henry, George Washington, John Jay Adams, and John Jay. They discussed the Declaration of Independance and taxation without representation from the British. After the meeting they had little to no actions for a while until the second meeting, where they signed the declaration of independance and America was born.
In September 5, 1774, 54 delegates gathered at the first Continental Congress at Carpenter’s Hall in Philadelphia. They were extremely displeased by the Intolerable Acts. Among the delegates were radicals John Adams, Patrick Henry, and George Washington, a moderate representing his ideas; they wanted peace in the colonies, yet expected violence that came. The Congress ended with 4 agreements, one of them concluded that if one colony was attacked, then it was an act of violence on all of them. Therefore colonies then needed to be protected if the British refused their declaration to colonial rights and decided to harm them.

The First Continental Congress took place on the dates September 11, 1774, through October 26, 1774. The meeting made the scene in Pennsylvania. The attendees admitted the boycotting of British goods. The meeting was consolidated in response to the unfair taxes and rules over the colonies, which were made by the British.
The colonies also called for a continental congress, in the first meeting they made decisions basically defending themselves from anything Britain could possibly throw at them: military preparations in case the British in Boston chose to attack, boycotting in hopes of abolishing trade with Great Britain, rejecting a colonial union under British control, the basically wanted nothing to do with Great Britain because Britain abused their power over the colonists to begin with. The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the official turning point for the colonists, they had colonists prepared with guns, minutemen, that were ready to fight at a seconds notice and they kept close eyes on Boston just in case the British chose to attack. William Dawes and Paul Revere were keeping watch for any British movement. When the British came the colonists were ready and by the end of the battle the British had lost many of their troops in this revolutionary war. This war was definitely the beginning of the fight for independence for the colonists, thy showed the British that they could stand up for themselves and that they deserved better treatment.
Following the Revolutionary War, America had just gained independance from Great Britain and needed to form a new government. The Articles of Confederation were established as an attempt to create a government that was unlike Britain’s. Unfortunately, the Articles of Confederation had several weaknesses. When in the process of repairing those weaknesses, the Federalists and the Anti-federalists formed. The Articles of Confederation were very weak as well as useless to America and because of this, the Federalists and the Anti-Federalists could not agree on a new type of government.

The meeting followed the Intolerable Acts that were passed by parliament in 1774. The Intolerable Acts was a response to the deeds of bostiantins of the Boston Tea Party. It was an attempt to try stop the "commotions and insurrections.” happening in Boston.
On September 5th, 1774, the First Continental Congress, representing twelve American Colonies, came together to discuss the proceedings of their Union. The reason, was to confer about documents enforced by the Parliament and the King that violated the Union’s rights. It is our opinion that the First Continental Congress was the most significant role in causing the Revolutionary War. I believe so because it gathered the colonies together, created resistance against Britain, and sent a letter to the King. The First Continental Congress cut off all trade with Great Britain, making Britain seem more foreign, pitted colonists against Britain, and got rid of most friendly ties with Britain.
Matthew, Great question! I agreed with Adam that the Continental Congress can be considered the drive of the Revolutionary War. As the Continental Congress is a sign of resistance towards the British as they decided on the separation and declaring war, all show signs of wanting independence. We can also argue that the first Continental Congress as the first real government in America. The small body of government put together the Declaration of Independence and considered themselves as the forerunner of America 's independent government.
