The antebellum period took place before the civil war. During this time period, one can thoroughly see accomplishments of the presidents in charge during that time. There is one who stood out the most based on my criteria and his outstanding achievements and it was George Washington . He was one with the most accomplishments, foreign policies and impacted the union the most after his presidency. Being in charge of a nation is never easy no matter how much experience or prepared one is, issues are always going to arise whether it be political, economic,or social issues. However there were problems some of these U.S presidents could’ve prevented but they didn’t, which is why one can set aside and easily eliminate Franklin Pierce, Millard
• A president needed to be elected • Many Americans thought that the government was the main threat to their rights • James Madison wrote that the government had to be powerful enough to protect people’s rights, but not so strong that it could control rights of people • By May 25th, the convention was officially underway • George Washington was very admired by most Americans • Delegates decided on the rules for the next convention
George Washington was indispensable in launching the U.S government. Although many opposed his political views at the time, Washington's leadership capabilities were unquestionable after his victory in the American Revolution. Our victory over Great Britain would have been doubtful if not for Washington and his judgement. Before becoming president, Washington led in drafting the Constitution, which is the foundation of America. When he became president, Washington believed in unity and a strong central power.
At the young age of 21, George Washington was just beginning his experience within the military. He was sent out with an Indian scout to spy on the French and gather what information could be useful to win the battle against them. Washington found the troops in a cavern drinking. to make the Articles of Confederation work. George Washington didn’t like this idea of revising the Articles at first, but the news of the rebellion made him change his mind. George Washington’s Presidency George Washington, as every American has known since around pre-school, was our nation’s first president. But what if we didn’t have a president? Maybe a king, or even a theocracy? Originally, George Washington thought that maybe a constitution may not work, and a ruling elite may even work better (William P. Kladky). The Constitutional Convention had many long and heated debates on how to best create their government to give equal power to all branches of the government, and a board of three was one of the contenders (William P. Kladky).
Based on my research of Martin Van Buren, I believe he succeeded in meeting the criteria of a good leader even though he was not the most popular President among the people of the United States. Not only was Van Buren a master politician, but he was also the person to create the union that later became the foundation of the Democratic Party. Before becoming the President, Van Buren served as President Andrew Jackson’s Secretary of State before becoming Jackson’s Vice President. After helping Jackson, he became the U.S. minister to Great Britain. Because of the many high positions he had throughout his life, he proved to the people of America that he was a good leader to later earn his position as the eighth President of the United States of America.
George Washington was not just "first in war, first in peace and first in the hearts of his countrymen," as he was eulogized by Henry lee, but first among america's chief executives in the minds of many presidential scholars, including Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Joseph Ellis. After leading the continental army to an improbable victory over the world's most powerful empire, Washington faced another daunting challenge to transform ink on parchment into the actually of the American presidency. The power of the modern presidency is not defined by the constitution. It's defined by the Washington presidency. If you read the constitution of the United States on the executive branch and the power of the presidency.
One final thing that made John Adams the best president to serve in the United States was the fact that he was a great communicator. He knew that to be a good leader one had to know how to communicate properly in many different forms. He worked hard and strove for a good reputation and fought for what was the right thing to do for his country! He set out to become a known as more than just a lawyer and worked at it for many years. He knew that there were things wrong with the country and he set out to fix those all the while protecting his country!

Reformation is an essential part of American history. It is the abiltiy to change ineffective or outdated structures of society. Reform movements during the Antebellum Movement, and the Civil Rights Movement are examples of reactions to injustices. Social Conservatives that are complacent attempt resist these changes. Reform movements have led to the Government to have more active role in society.
George Washington Carver is the scientist whose biological discovery has made the greatest impact on my life. He was best known for the many uses he devised for the peanut. Mr. Carver was a prominent African-American “Scientist, Inventor, Botanist, and Chemist.” The peanut-including dyes, plastics, and gasoline. He works in plant pathology, however, established his reputation as a brilliant botanist.
Even though all the presidents took the same oath to uphold the same Constitution, times have changed since George Washington was president. Today, with the increase of social media, the growth of the federal government, disagreements between parties, along with all of the current issues, make the president’s job one of the hardest. The job of the president is not impossible, what makes it extremely difficult is that no one in Congress is willing to change the status quo. I think there is so much responsibility placed on the president that it is almost impossible to be truly successful. I think all of the stress the president undergoes daily working with his staff to find solutions to current issues that will benefit most Americans, provides
This impact on our country sought out the world’s greatest president was in fact Abraham Lincoln. He accomplished and was successful in many aspects while creating a better life that we all live today. Paludan was correct in arguing that he was the best by what he actually completed. While Bradford argued against why he wasn’t the best, and reasons that the Civil War took place. The war opened many opportunities for generations and future presidents to be voted into office.
Over hundreds of years America has had many presidents, some able to complete the tasks at hand, but many were not worthy of leading this nation. President Abraham Lincoln was one of the few who led the United States of America with great strength and courage. Abraham Lincoln was the best U.S. president because he had a great impact on ending slavery and he was one of the greatest natural strategists and leaders of all time. Abraham Lincoln is considered to be America 's wisest president.
