Adnan Syed was convicted of killing Hae min Lee in 1999 in Baltimore, Maryland. The call logs provide incriminating stats that prove Adnan killed Hae which shows motive behind Haes murder. Adnan Syed swears to have not remembered any events that went on the night before and the night of the slaughtering of Hae Min Lee; however, based on the call logs Adnan called Hae three times the night before she was kidnapped …show more content…
In Hae’s diary she writes this about Adnan: “he hasn't called me since twelve thirty this afternoon and it's definitely pushing me to the edge” (Koenig, “The Breakup”). Adnan would have known that Hae wanted to be in contact with him at all times. That's why it seems a little abnormal for Adnan not to call her the next day. Also, on the website U.S. Chamber Foundation it claims that “the millennial generation is very optimistic and willing to be looser with the controls” (“U.S. Chamber Foundation”). Adnan seems different he seems a little tighter with the controls on Hae. That makes me feel like Adnan isn’t like everyone else. It almost makes me feel like he would be different enough to kill someone he once loved. One time Hae explained how he got mad at her for not calling and texting back fast enough. That seems a little bit over bearing on Adnan’s part. Another piece of evidence that raises concerns is why Adnan wouldn’t call Hae the next day is maybe they went through a little argument and this pushed Adnan over the edge. The prosecutor in Adnan’s trial tells us “This was not a crime about love it was a crime about pride,” “he was so wounded by her,
If you’re going to murder your ex-girlfriend you should probably find a better way of covering it up. Adnan is a senior in a high school in Baltimore, Maryland where his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee was reported lost on January 13th, 1999 and found in Leakin Park on February 9th. Adnan Syed was found guilty of first degree murder, the main witness in the case was his thought to be best friend Jay, who we later learned felt like Adnan wasn’t a close friend. The reasons that Adnan murdered Hae Min Lee all add up, Adnan has a motive having Hae being of different culture he put a lot on the line to date her, Jay claims to have seen Adnan with Hae in the trunk of a car that Adnan had and, Adnan also had no alibi to where he was at the time of Hae’s
There is motive as to why Adnan would kill Hae. Adnan bended his religion by dating Hae and having sex with her. He had given up a lot to be with her. When Hae broke up with him, it gives him motive to kill her because he was so angry for giving up so much. In episode 2 of the podcast, one of Adnan’s teachers said that his poetry was dark, and she hasn’t seen writing like that from other students.
On February 9, 1999 Hae Min Lee was found in Leakin Park, Baltimore, Maryland with signs of manual strangulation. The state claimed that Adnan Syed, Hae’s former boyfriend at the time was responsible because they believed he was enraged of their relationship ending. My claim is Adnan Syed is likely not responsible for the death of Hae Min Lee, because there was insufficient evidence to prove he was guilty and the trial was unfair, it was based more on his racial background than the actual case itself. Adnan can be proved innocent with Don’s odd alibi and suspicions.
He cared about her well-being and he tried to make sure she was okay after she didn’t pick up her cousin from school as she always does. Adnan cared for her even though they broke
When asking multiple eyewitnesses who both knew Adnan and Hae they claim that there was no unusual behavior hinting that Adnan was looking to get revenge on Hae,instead most of them claim that Adnan did not seem like the type of person to commit nprofessional at times, and failed to give important pieces of information that could have been crucial in Adnan’s favor which led to many people believing the case was botched. Based on the evidence there is room for reasonable doubt in Adnan’s conviction as it is hard to paint Adnan to be responsible for the murder of Hae. There is not enough evidence against him and should not have been punished for the murder of Hae. While it may

Relationships, lies, murder, conviction. These are all aspects that come into play when talking about the January 13th, 1999 murder of high school student Hae Min Lee. Adnan Syed, Hae’s 17-year-old ex-boyfriend was convicted of her murder in 2000. The problem with this is that the only evidence the state had to convict Adnan was the stories told by others, specifically someone named Jay who was with Adnan for some of the day Hae went missing and had possession of Adnan’s car and cell phone. He claims Adnan made him come pick him up after the murder was committed and assist him in burying Hae’s body.
Pride and Jealousy are very powerful things! Some people will go to the farthest limits to preserve their own ego and selfish desires. The Serial Podcast by Sarah Koenig is about the very complex murder of Hae Min Lee on January 13th, 1999. Many different people are brought into the Hae Lee case but the one that sticks out the most is Adnan Syed. On the day of January 13th, 1999 Hae Min Lee was strangled to death by Adnan Syed with the assistance of Jay Wilds.
Of course, many people think Adnan Syed is guilty of murdering Hae by contradicting himself, by saying, “I am in here for my own mistakes.” He might have been on the edge of confessing his guilt until Sarah caught this and asked what he meant, and quickly recovers from his mistake. Adnan also slips his tongue by saying that he wants people to only look at the evidence, and not his personality. If I were convicted of a crime I would certainly like to have my personality be looked at, if I were innocent. So they could see what good I have done.
