Jack the Ripper is known for the gruesome murders of five prostitutes in London’s East End in 1888. He was never apprehended and despite the countless amount of investigations that were held, his name and motives are still unknown to this day. Jack’s murders had some very important effects on society in London such as: the terrorisation of the police, the influence on the media, and the way the district was viewed after his murders. On January 2, 1981, Peter Sutcliffe’s killing spree was finally brought to an end. Officers of the Sheffield Police Department in South Yorkshire caught Sutcliffe in a car with fake license plates. He had a prostitute, 24-year-old Olivia Reivers, in the car with him when he was caught. The police arrested him and he was brought to the Dewsbury Police Station. While in custody, the police questioned Sutcliffe about the Yorkshire Ripper case, since he looked similar to the drawing of the killer (Sohrabi-Shiraz).

With the death of thousands and over thirty-three billion dollars in damages, it was clear that Osama wanted nothing more than to destroy the West. His hatred stemmed from the United States occupation of his homeland, which led him to pursue radical Islamic beliefs to kill the West.
During the Victorian era occurring throughout England, crime rates had begun to increase. Not only did theft and assault become more common; forgery and fraud were in the mix as well. Even though many crimes were coming into speculation, one specific offense had the population baffled. Although his motive may seem unclear in The Great Train Robbery, Edward Pierce’s reasoning for executing one of the most bizarre robberies of his time had a special purpose; he wanted to out-do the stereotypes and show that even the most respected of England can execute a mere “street crime.” Taking into account that Edward Pierce was known to be one of the more reputable men between his associates, it is odd that he would commit such a crime.

The five official victims Mary Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes, and Mary Jane Kelly.
