Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a very smart person. He wanted every ones rights to be equal no matter what color your skin is. If Martin Luther King did not give his speech this world would be a lot different today. I think if he was not killed at such a young age he would of gave a lot more speeches and made a lot more of a difference on the world.
Jackie Robinson
Jackie Robinson was the first ever African American to play major league baseball. If Jackie Robinson did not play in the major leagues then some our best MLB players today would be playing in the minor leagues. Jackie Robinson made a big impact on this world not only playing baseball but also standing up for his rights. On
Jackie was the first black baseball player to play professional. He broke world boundaries when he went professional and became the first black player to play with white player. The world celebrated the 50th anniversary of Jackie breaking major league color barrier. Jackie made a big impact to the civil rights movement celebrating the breaking of race barrier in sports.
Jackie Robinson was the first african american to play professional baseball. He first played in the negro leagues first. Then the president from the brooklyn dodgers gave him a chance. Jackie was a young man that loved baseball. He played other sports but baseball was he loved baseball more.
Jackie Robinson was the first African American player in the MLB (Major League Baseball.) Jackie Robinson was born on January 31, 1919. In the early 1940´s Robinson met nurse-in-training Rachel Isum Robinson, while they were both attending the University of California. Robinson fought very hard to play on an all white MLB team called the Brooklyn Dodgers and eventually made it in 1947. Jackie Robinson was an amazing baseball player with a batting average of .311, 137 homeruns, 197 stolen bases, and .409 on base percentage!

Jackie used bravery and his determination to accomplish his goals. He played his hardest on the field through tough times, and off the field, he would stand up for blacks.
(Milbert) Jackie Robinson is one of the best African Americans to ever play baseball. He had grown up living a poor life, but that never stopped him from succeeding academically and athletically. Throughout all of college Jackie proved that he had great talent in all sports. Jackie was the first African American to play in the MLB and most of the time there he was putting up with racial slurs and gestures. Jackie went on to achieve many goals throughout his life.
However, once you panned to the first base side of the diamond, you would see anything but typical. On that day, Jackie Robinson became the first black player to play in a Major League Baseball game since the start of the 20th century. On that day, for the first time, a baseball player with extraordinary talent was not overlooked because of the colour of his skin. On that day, the modern movement of racial integration began.

Jackie Robinson is known to be one of the most influential people in baseball and in society. He eternally changed the aspect of American history. It was unusual to have a colored person be treated equally as a white person during the time of the 1900s. He was born in Cairo, Georgia in 1919 and later moved to Pasadena, California to pursue a better life. He came from a poor family of sharecroppers in the South and was the youngest of five.
To do that, he had to find someone that could withstand racial discrimination and learn to not fight back when dealt with harsh criticism. Jackie Robinson took an amazing risk when he became the first African-American athlete to play in the major leagues. Robinson has been a huge inspiration to athletes, paving the way for blacks, not just in the game of baseball, as well as being an outspoken activist for the rights of American-Americans. Baseball was segregated at the time, but Jackie took an unbelievable risk, breaking the color barrier in the sport.

There is no doubt that Jackie Robinson has been one of most impactful baseball players to ever play the sport. For reasons such as pushing himself to reach his goals, facing many hardships, and being the first African American to play in the MLB, he has shown perseverance and been a role model to everyone. The first reason how Jackie Robinson has impacted society is how he worked hard to reach his goals.
For being the first African American to play in the majors, he got his number retired throughout baseball. Another well know African American baseball player was Satchel Paige. He was 2nd to play in the American League. He became the first African American to pitch in the World Series and in the All-Star game.
Martin Luther King Jr. helped us realize that segregation and poverty are wrong. He also helped us realize that we should treat people the same. No matter race, color, or gender. He has impacted our everyday lives with the Civil Rights Act and his “I Have a Dream…” speech. He is an important man with an important history.
