As one of the greatest composers of all time, John Williams is best known for his film scores in countless iconic movies, including Star Wars, Jaws, Superman, Harry Potter, and Indiana Jones. At 82 years old, John Williams is considered legendary because of his role as a composer, conductor, and pianist. He has significantly impacted pop culture by creating the soundtracks to over 100 classic American movies (Truitt). His father was a jazz drummer in “the CBS radio orchestra and the Raymond Scott Quintet” (“Biography of John Williams”). Williams grew up in a musical home, which influenced his desire in learning to play the piano at a young age. After mastering the piano he took interest in learning to play the “trumpet, trombone, and clarinet” (Eldridge). As a teenager, Williams spent his time writing music. In 1948, at the age of 16, Williams and his family moved to Los Angeles, California. Williams attended the University of California, Los Angeles and the Los Angeles City College. He studied orchestration under musician Robert Van Eps while being tutored by composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (“Biography of John Williams”). Paranormal Activity Sequel The first time I heard that there would be a sequel to Paranormal Activity I was psyched. The original was so unique and effective that I could only wonder what Oren Peli had in store for us next. Peli is the writer/director of the original and the producer of the sequel. Michael R. Perry wrote the screenplay and story this time around. Perry has a long resume of work that he has done on popular television series such as Law and Order: SVU.

Spielberg has worked with award winning actors, used groundbreaking technology, and is even considered to be the father of the New Hollywood Era. As a child Steven would film things like family events and occasions and soon went onto directing tv shows, before movies, starting in the mid 80’s to the present. Steven Spielberg is the most memorable director due to his advances in movie special effects and setting the stage for summer blockbusters.

During his study years, he was worried that he wouldn’t be able to have a successful career in music. Therefore, he studied English in college with plans to get an MBA (business degree). But after a very successful concert he abandoned the plans and paid his full attention back towards a musical career.
Bud Powell was born in 1924 into a family of musicians. His father was a stride pianist, his older brother played trumpet, and his younger brother played piano as well. As early as the age of five, Powell was under classical instruction. While his father wished for him to learn the ways of Chopin and Bach, Powell leaned more towards the bluesy tunes of Theolonious Monk, who was the first to take notice of Powell’s talent at Minton’s Playhouse where both frequented in Powell’s teenage years. It wasn't until his family transitioned to Seattle Washington he began his interest in music.
