Boo Radley and Tom Robinson are both symbolized by the mocking bird. Boo Radley is symbolized by the mockingbird. He is a sweet, gentle, innocent man. He looks out for the children, and leaves gifts for them. Boo left gifts inside the tree outside of his house for them to find and keep. He obviously did not expect anything in return because the kids did not know it was him from the start. He did it out of the kindness of his heart so that he could see the children having fun and being happy. After the fire at Miss Maudie’s house, he went out in the freezing cold just to bring Scout a blanket to keep herself warm. At the time Scout did not even take notice to the nice gesture. He did so many nice things that nobody in the town noticed. He was portrayed by town the as an evil monster who has done so many horrible things. In reality, all of the horrible things were just made up stories that the children had heard. He never hurt anyone, despite all of the stories. The only horrible thing he did was kill Bob Ewell but he had extreme good intentions. He only did it to save the children, yet again doing something nice for Scout and Jem. Tom Robinson is also symbolized by the mockingbird. He only does good. He is a good husband, father, church goer,
He helped Scout when she was freezing outside by giving her a blanket. Boo saved Jem and Scout’s lives when he came and helped them the night of the pageant. Tom Robinson is symbolized by the mockingbird. Tom is innocent. Tom is a cripple and is unable to use his left arm.

Calpurnia says that Tom is a good man, when Atticus asks for her input on his character.
Tom Robinson was a man who didn't want to cause any throuble except for trying to help a girl who seemed desperatley lonely. Later in the novel, it has been concluded that Scout has understood the important concept of mocking birds when she tells Atticus about Boo Radley would be "Sort of like shooti a mocking bird". Boo has never done anything besides act with kindness to others like the Finch children.
Multiple characters are symbolized as mockingbirds because it would be a sin to kill them as they only try and want to be a kind, civil person. Boo Radley is a misunderstood, and kind-hearted man who is represented as a mockingbird in the novel. Boo, due to the county's curiosity and fast pace spreading of rumours, is often perceived as monster “Inside the house lived a malevolent phantom” (Lee 8).
Yet he saved Jem and Scout from Bob Ewell. Now some could argue that Boo is an example for a mockingbird because he saved Jem and could have gone to trial for Bob’s murder even though he was protecting Jem. There would have been bad rumors with Boo, but Tom is the best example of a Mockingbird symbol based on evidence in the

In the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the mockingbird is a metaphor for Tom Robinson. While mockingbirds are discussed in the novel as literal birds that harmlessly sing and entertain, Lee clearly uses the mockingbird to symbolize Tom Robinson. One reason that supports this idea is a Robinson is a innocent man who tried to help someone but then was convicted of rape. Another reason that supports the metaphor is Tom, the innocent songbird, was put on trial for his life and was convicted guilty. This inhuman action of murdering an innocent and harmless man who wanted to help is like the killing of a harmless songbird.both are innocent, and both murders are wrong.

Oxford dictionary defines deceptive as “easily mistaken for something else or as having a different quality. ”(Oxford 299) The two characters; Boo Radley and Tom Robinson from Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird are both deceptive characters because the way they act and the things they do are misconstrued by the town of Maycomb. Boo Radley and Tom Robinson both display innocence, both are discriminated against by the people in their town and they are both people who do the morally right thing. Boo and Tom are alike because both characters are prejudiced against, therefore, they both demonstrate the theme of putting yourself in someone else’s shoes.
