With the Industrial Revolution came a wave of new changes and ideas. A boatload of new concepts and inventions flooded Europe and North America. This controversial topic leads to where we are now. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily negative consequences for society because of child labor, it was actually a positive thing for society. A photograph from document 3 depicts the beginnings of the development of cities, homes, and factories. These new developments will bring people in. The more people there are, the more money made (from taxes, tourism, and goods). A photograph from document 6 depicts how times have changed and led to freedom of children. The family has a home and the children appear well-fed meaning that there has been an increase in workers or self-operating machines. With fairly run and speedy manufacturing, the output of goods is boosted. An excerpt from document 9, states “You are surrounded, as we have constantly shown you throughout this book, with an infinite number of comforts and conveniences which had no existence two or three centuries ago…” (The Working Man’s Companion). The growth of our economy is completely evident in this statement: inventions, improvements, and innovations have made life substantially simpler and more productive. Burdens that were a problem years ago are now non-existent. Thanks to economic growth, the country does not have such a awful money

The Industrial Revolution was a time when many different transitions in the world with the production of goods, and machines, and the rights of people were being created and challenged. During this time, many issues with the law and the safety of the people were rising and getting worse. The Industrial Revolution had taken many steps to address these issues through different testimonies, pointing out the negative aspects of the working class, and the Factory Act of 1833. During the Industrial Revolution, the owners of the factories cared about the means of production way more than the health and safety of the workers and children.
As Document D states, these advances have led to men and women living more comfortably and less stressed out economically. Machinery wasn’t the only form of technology that improved during the Industrial Revolution, there were also advancements in communication. The Industrial Revolution had many effects on people, Their are many Positive effects for the people but also negative effects on people. Firstly factories produced clothes faster and quicker than doing things by hand in document 1 there was a race to see who could do 5 seams faster the women, the men or a sewing machine. The sewing machine had done the 5 seams the fastest and neatest. Secondly once factories were started most workers had lost their jobs due to the machines doing the worker faster, neater and quicker so that was very negative towards the workers. Finally having the clothes produced quicker, faster and neater people liked just buying their clothes instead of having to make their own clothes by
Starting with Britain leading the industrial revolution, other countries rapidly followed. Many cities were unable to handle the rapid urbanization, slums increased along with the crime rate. Industrialization transformed the family from being the chief unit of both production and consumption. Jobs for men slowly became less available but paid enough to support a family however women’s jobs were plentiful but underpaid. Child labor laws or lack thereof improved working conditions but separated them from their families.

Effects of the Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution was an important event in history. It brought about many positives during its time. Something that was good about the industrial revolution was that there was more workers and people could get payed more. Things that were bad was that little kids could. The Industrial Revolution occurred in Britain during 1760 to 1840, and it lead to new technological and intellectual advances. Inventions and new ideas revolutionised the way tasks were done, but with that, came both positive and negative consequences. The Industrial Revolution did have negative consequences, but the positives outweighed them, and it led to the success of Britain’s growth and development. Commerce and trade were
