About! I got my color guard flag July 2nd 2017. My flag has a white pole and a blue silk known as the flag part. All of the guard members has the same flag as I do. In our shows we will use different flags that matches the theme of the show. The theme for this year is Shine bright! We perform at football games at Hamilton High. Who invented color guard Color guard was invented by a lady named Peggy Twiggs. She came up with the move called the "peggy spin". "Before the 'peggy spin', guard members would usually just show the flag at different angles, just like the military. But know it has changed a lot. In guard you throw your flag in the air which is very cool to watch. We also have rifles and sabers. The rifles is like what they use
Color Guard would be protected by soldiers with sabres or rifles. Fallen Soldiers Battle Cross would be another tradition the military has, it’s a maker appropriate to the soldier’s religion, or were for the soldier who has been killed. It deals with the riffle of the soldier placed in the soldier boots or stuck in the ground with their helmet on top.
In April 1898 the white background was changed to a buff color to match the soldiers uniforms. A few years later the color reverted to blue and remains unchanged.
The gold star was added to the service flag and had taken honor and is placed over the blue star. The service flag is the official banner authorized by the department of defense by the families or the members that are serving or in the armed forces. There is a day that the flag gets older and older. So every year we celebrate a day called Flag Day.
Polls have been taken over a period of time only to receive similar percentages of answers. The percentage stays the very same over the years. Mainly, the outcome states that the flag represents southern pride mostly by over 50% every time, rather than the banner promoting racism. Originally born as a practical banner of the commanders of the Confederate Army in Virginia, the commanders of the south wanted a symbol to identify their cause and their troops to serve as their battle flag during the Civil War. After going through a few ideas they chose the first Confederacy`s National flag -The Stars and Bars- to serve as their battle symbol during the war.
The color guard uses a lot of diffrent things not just a flag, like some people think. They also use (fake) rifles, sabers, and some even use things such as ribbon. During the civil war, a band with a person or few holding flags would march out on the battlefields. The band did this so that the soldiers stayed marching together correctly and to keep the spirits high.
This flag is called the Gadsden Flag. According to the Founding Fathers.info, “We don’t know for certain where, when, or by whom the familiar coiled rattlesnake was first used with the warning ‘Don’t Tread on Me” (Whitten 2001). However, In 1775, during the Battle of Bunker Hill, General George Washington (Washington) and the Second Continental Congress authorized the Continental Navy to be created, so that they could seize British cargo ships that held loaded arms and gunpowder for war. Enlisted Marines from Philadelphia had painted drums yellow, and added a savage, coiled rattlesnake with the motto, “Don’t Tread On Me,” (Villeneuve 2016). Washington felt having multiple flags to represent The United States was an atrocious
The company had moved somewhere else and for the new building they made that flag and put it outside hanging on the building. They didn’t know how people would react to it, but they didn’t care because those three made it together and also almost everyone loved it. Susan Kare had painted a big skull and crossbones in white while Steve
Soldiers have been using white flags to signify capitulation for thousands of years. The ancient Roman chronicler Livy described a Carthaginian ship being decorated with “white wool and branches of olive” as a symbol of parley during the Second Punic War, and Tacitus later wrote of white flags being displayed as part of the surrender of Vitellian forces at 69 A.D.’s Second Battle of Cremona. Most historians believe blank banners first caught on because they were easy to distinguish in the heat of battle. Since white cloth was common in the ancient world, it may have also been a case of troops improvising with the materials they had on hand.
It was first raised at the Capitol and is a sign of Colonial Unity. This means being united or joined together. The symbols on this flag are the Union Jack located in the left corner which is Great Britain’s flag. The rest of the flag consists of six white stripes and seven red stripes
In the “Flag Poll” article, Steve Chapman mentions that the Texas flag is different from others because of its exclusive design. Some flags flown by other states are described as unappealing, ordinary, or are hard to see. My favorite opinion in the article is the way he describes the flags that lack originality; “Nearly half of them are dreary variations on a single theme: blue rectangles with
Red is for power, Yellow means to have faith and love and green is hope and the star means diversity in the country. This is an authentic Ethiopian flag from my great grandparents. It’s a nice sized flag that we keep put away in my grandma’s hutch. This is connected to me because my great grandparents were from Ethiopia and yes they came to America from there. Ethiopia has a lot of ancient history even in the Bible and is very popular and known for many things.
French President Francois Hollande urged his countrymen and women to display the blue, white and red flag at their homes to take part in a ceremony Friday commemorating the 130 people who died after jihadists attacked the nation 's capital two weeks ago. Survivors, family members and politicians gathered at Paris’ Les Invalides military museum – home to Napoleon’s tomb – to hear the names and ages of the victims, most of them young, read aloud. Displaying the national flag is not as common in France as it is in United States. For decades, the French flag has been viewed domestically as either a far-right symbol or something mostly suited for government buildings and sporting events.
Envision waking up every morning to put on the same outfit and walk out the door, stress free. People would not have to worry about what fits, or what is fashionable at the time. Schools would not have to worry about inappropriate clothing but at the same time, that clothing may be a way for a student to express himself. Many schools view uniforms as a solution to several problems, but many schools view uniforms as a lack of self expression. School uniforms should continue, even though children may not get to express themselves, because they prohibit violence, provide cheaper lifestyles, and promote better education.
The firmly planted flags are meant to show that I believe that my goals are achievable. The next choice I made was how to portray myself. I can be seen in the salt shaker, the constellation of stars, and
You might be thinking about the schools that rich kids go to in movies and TV shows or you might be thinking about Catholic schools with small children all wearing the same colored school uniforms. This is probably what most people imagine. We associate uniforms with students of foreign countries and private schools. Thoughts of students dressing in school uniforms have led to stereotyping and a gloomy outlook on schools pushing for a uniform policy. We live in a society that says you must express yourself and be an individual at all cost, but some fear that uniforms display us as robots who lack the ability to express ourselves, however, this is far from the truth.
