The Crucible, written by American playwright Arthur Miller, is one of the most classic plays due to its work of American drama. Miller wrote the play with suspense, superstition, hysteria, and also, intolerance. I believe that intolerance is one of the most well-defined, well used, themes of the play. Intolerance is a very common trait that is used not only in literature, but in communities around the world. The Crucible is set in a theocratic society, in which the church and the state are one, therefore, religion is very strict and known as Puritanism.
