“Kiss my Ass” was the last words to come out of John Wayne Gacy Jr.’s mouth before his execution in 1994. John Wayne Gacy also known as the “The Killer Clown” was a vicious serial killer in the early 1970s who killed thirty-three boys and young men. Through John Wayne Gacy’s life he struggled through a number of things from an abusive father, and struggling with his sexuality. John Wayne Gacy was born March 17, 1942 from John Wayne Gacy Sr. and Marion Elaine Robinson. He had a troubled relation with his father, who was an alcoholic and abusive to him calling him a “sissy.” Although him and his father did not get along very well he had a close relationship with his mother and sister. Years later after being promoted he ends up marrying a wealthy family and relocated with his wife to Waterloo, Iowa. In 1966, Gacy’s father in law asked him to take over management of the family’s chicken restaurant. Gacy became well known and a liked person within his community. However not all was well with Gacy as this future serial killer was arrested for the first time for coercing a male employee into homosexual acts. This came to a surprise to those who thought this likeable father of two infants at the time, and especially to his wife of two years. After pleaing guilty to the charges he was sentenced to ten years in the Iowa’s State Men’s Reformatory in Anamosa. Robert Piest disappeared on December 11, 1978 from Des Plaines pharmacy where he worked after school. Just before his disappearance he told his co-worked that he was going to a house down the street to talk to “some contractor” about a job. Gacy had been at the pharmacy that night discussing to the owner about a remodeling job. When police questioned Gacy about the disappearance he denied talking to Piest, but Des Plaines police did what Chicago failed to do and check Gacy’s record, discovering that he had served time for sodomy.
