(youth.gov) But, sending children to adult court completely conflicts with that idea. This means that children are being punished for something that they do not understand which is unjust in its own right. Some people might respond to this by saying that children would get a more suitable punishment for a crime in adult court. But this argument does not reflect what child developmental science has found. Take some of the children from Lord of the Flies as an example; if they were tried in adult court, they would most likely receive a life sentence because of the two purposeful deaths on the island but if they were tried in a juvenile court system, they would most likely go into rehabilitation.
Juvenile Justice Essay In the United States, there have been many cases where a juvenile would be found guilty and be tried as an adult. There are other cases where those juveniles are tried as adult forever. I am against charging juveniles as adults when they commit violent crimes, the juveniles lose many educational opportunities and the adult system is far too dangerous for the young juveniles. Juveniles are also young kids but only the fact that they do not get the same amount of education or experience that other teens gain.
We have seen today in society of how crime rates have been rampant and how statistics show that most of the crimes were being made by minors. I believe that when most of them look at the bottom of these young offenders come disproportionately from impoverished single-parent homes that are located in the neighbourhoods desinvertido and have high rates of learning disabilities, mental health, and substance abuse and problems with the help of the system of juvenile justice that can make a great return on a successful transition to adulthood. Their ages ranged from 20 and under, most are under fifteen years of age. Juveniles tried as adults must assume the same consequences as any other criminal and are subject to state prisons with inmates much higher and that have probably committed crimes much more tortuous then you could ever have. These minors between the ages of nine to twenty according to the offence committed or of the number of times that are prosecuted and believe that it is immutable.
Why children under 16 shouldn’t be tried as adults We are in the 21st century now, I don’t think it’s very fair if children are charged as adults due to the fact that their brains aren’t very developed just yet. It’s shocking the amount of children behind bars for life, due to crimes they committed as children. Children face more dangers in prison and it could affect there mentality long term if they are sent away to prison before their minds are fully developed. Children also have no sense of wrong or right, before their minds are completely developed they cannot be held accountable for their actions, while in prison they face the dangers of sexual assault, being beaten or even killed as they are younger and more frail than the other inmates may be, they could even end up joining a prison gang.
When people commit crimes, there should be disciplined no matter what. Juveniles need to learn that their behaviors have consequences. Why should kids be given any less of a punishment for committing the same crime? According to one author, “Taking a life is murder regardless of the age of the offender, and the penalties to be imposed must not discriminate. After all, the victim’s life will never be returned, and the family will permanently lose their loved one” (“7 Top Pros and Cons of Juveniles Being Tried As Adults”).
Many people think kids that commit massive crimes deserve to be put in a adult jail house but don’t realize that they are young immature human beings. There has been many cases of kids being tried as adults and being sentence to life in prison. We can’t continue to put these young kids in adult prison, they should be put in juvenile hails where they belong. Kids are being shown no mercy when it comes to being put in jails. Kids aren’t allowed to do certain things because you need to be an adult, so the same rules should be applied we it comes to give children jail time.
Why Children Shouldn’t be Tried as Adults As of June 25, 2012, the Supreme Court ruled that juveniles who have committed murder could not be sentenced to life in prison. Their reasoning for this, was that it violated the eighth amendment’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment. It is in good reason that this was made law, because never has a child's brain been equal to that of an adult's, the circumstances surrounding most of the cases sent to the courts are appalling, and the statistics of the finances to house inmates and that backup rehabilitation of the youths within the prison lead me to question the sanity of anyone who believes otherwise.
When children commit the worst crime people are quick to assume before getting to know the background of that one child who decided to do wrongful acts. Little kids don’t get help as much as teenagers or young adults do. Kids/teens do not know how to express their emotions when they are hurt or scared. I believe that for children under 17 to be charged as adults
When children and teens commit a violent crime such as murder, courts convict them as adults. This means that children as young as eight have been tried as adults in court. Eventually, these convicts will be housed in jails with adults. Despite the federal law stating that juvenile and adult inmates must be separated, most states do not comply with these rules. Furthermore, a law that varies throughout the states is the age in which courts send the children to adult or juvenile prisons.
In our society, crimes are being committed not only by adults but by juveniles as well. By law as soon as a person turns 18 they are considered to be an adult. So what if an adult and a juvenile were to commit the same crime yet were sentenced differently simply based on the fact that one is a child and one is an adult? Juveniles are committing violent crimes just as adults and should be given the equal treatment and sentencing as adults receive. Juveniles aren’t completely ignorant as everyone seems to think.
Children need to obey some rules normally, either at home or at school. Strict discipline sometimes can be very critical, while I think it sometimes might have an impact on how will the children handle problems. The main point of rules is to put children in a responsible position for their behaviour, in order to form a good kind philosophy. Childs cannot understand the consequence from their actions unlike adults, however through the rules, they will able to realize how to make yourself accepted by the society.
Children are not Clueless to Right and Wrong Children are very important in the world today. Making sure they are stable and on the right track should be essential to all humans. Although some ads or commercials might influence children to make a not so good decision, it is ridiculous to ban all ads that may have negative effects on them. Although many ads may have harmful effects on children, kids are not clueless to what 's right and wrong. Because some ads are not good for kids, this helps them learn with decision making throughout their life. "
Juvenile Justice Should juveniles get treated as adults that’s one of the biggest controversy in our nation now days, with many juveniles committing crimes that are inconceivable according to their age. Judges have the last word on how to treat this young people. Many people argue that “the teens that are under eighteen are only kids, they won’t count them as young adults, not until they commit crimes. And the bigger the crime, the more eager this people are to call them adults” (Lundstrom 87). This is why people can’t come to a decision as how these young people should be treated like.
Can you imagine waking up behind closed walls and bars? Waking up to see your inmate who is a 45-year-old bank robber and you are a 14-year-old minor who made a big mistake. This is why minors who have committed crimes should not be treated the same as adults. Some reasons are because the consequences given to minors in adult court would impact a minor’s life in a negative way. If a minor is tried through a juvenile court, they have a greater chance of rehabilitation.
Kids aren 't just kids! Once you become a parent your life changes I hear. Kids are not cheap. Kids need a lot of things. Love, support, shelter , food, clothing and one on one time is just some things a kid needs.
