I also begun my case study on a woman that I plan to work with and hopefully progress over the next six weeks of my
I was highly impressed by the overall teamwork in the emergency department. It has a sense of organized chaos that would have taken me some time to adjust to. My nurse and I ended up going through a large group of patient during the time I was there. The nurse has this uniformity to how she would get her tasks done. The thing that through me off was the amount of stuff got done with our patients by other people.
I was watching the Tavis Smiley Show and was happy to see a mutual interest in enabling a healthy environment. Additionally, when I first turned to the channel they was talking about mental illness and I appreciated the insight. I believe they complimented the conversation with their perceptions. I went to school and got a bachelor degree of Science in Psychology and that is some of the topics I covered. Pretty
The members were all clean, looked healthy and well kempt. I was expecting an entire different presentation from everybody in the room. When I walked into the room, there was a lady standing and greeting people as they walked in. She walked up to me and welcomed me, I didn’t have to explain why I was there or what I wanted. There was coffee and cookies at a table and the chairs were in the centre of the room.

Description: In week 7 we had visited Wesburn Manor, the Long-term Care (Clinical Placement) setting. It was our first time there, therefore as a group, we oriented the place. At this time, we went to each nursing station on each floor and introduced ourselves from the organization we were from and how we will be providing patient care to the clients in this setting. We were educated by our clinical instructor on the different access codes in the building, the policies and guidelines, our assigned floor and the appointed personal support worker. Our role of professionalism as a nursing student was represented as we came prepared and greeted each healthcare and staff member.
During this time, I noticed the difference in care provided between the doctor and the nurse. The nurse offered a more trusting relationship, emphasized the use of holistic care, and provided empathy, which was much appreciated. Thereafter, I began volunteering at Lowell General Hospital and experienced my own interpersonal relationships with the outpatients. I felt truly satisfied during my time there, as I was able to apply my values and experience the gratitude and warmth that radiated from each patient that I helped. Therefore, I chose to pursue a career in nursing, as it is similarly based on my own beliefs and makes me feel like I make a difference in the lives of every person that

Throughout this course, I have had the opportunity to visit several clinical sites that have all left an everlasting memory with me. Each site had some very unique individuals who all were in a very unique situation. My first clinical site was Our Daily Bread in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. This particular location stood out to me because it is one of a kind and I do not believe I will ever come across another soup kitchen like it. Our Daily Bread has never closed their doors since the day they open.
