Authors often create characters which serve as foils to the main characters in order to show contrast. Choose one character and discuss the similarities and differences between them then explain the implications to these comparisons. Young, female socialites cannot become heroes. This was the mindset of many people in the 1950s. However, Flavia DeLuce becomes exactly that during her quest to find the murderer of Mr.Sanders along with unravelling the tangled past of her father.
Ellen James is one of the lesser seen characters within the book. She does tie in with most of the feminists including Garp’s mother Jenny. Ellen James was raped and then had her tongue cut out to ensure that she didn’t tell anyone. The men didn’t think of how she could still write and draw so she explained to the police what happened and the men were caught. Even though she’s still a small character she’s very easygoing and kind.
The Not-So-Good, the Bad and the Ugly Hearted “In the midst of life, we are in death”, is more than true in And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie where unlucky convicts are tricked into coming to an island of murder, deceit and guilt but out of the 10 summoned, Vera Claythorne, Philip Lombard and Dr. William Armstrong are the most deserving. Vera is a cold-blooded murderess who planned a kid 's death for money, this makes her extraordinarily evil. Lombard left 21 people for death - on purpose - just because they were from a different origin and had different skin color. Lastly, the doctor knowingly and willingly operated drunk, killing a woman on the operating table.

Sarah Dessen writes a novel that so many people can connect to including myself as I connected with the main character Sydney as being invisible and feeling what true friendship is. Both Sydney and I connected by feeling invisible for a number of reasons. One main example is that Sydney feels invisible in her own family. Her brother Peyton is the star of the family. He is handsome, a daredevil, and popular.
Pere Christophe is a major character in this novel, because of how important his presence is to the plot and how important his perspective is to our understanding of the story. He is a French Jesuit missionary, or as the Wendat call him, "a charcoal crow." Upon arriving to the Huron village, the natives were belligerent and inhospitable towards him. They see crows as the bringers of the disease that killed so many of their people when their boats first came. Christophe defends himself by saying the sickness comes from God, as a punishment for their heathen behaviour.
Through ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ we read through the eyes of a person named Jean Louise. Jean Louise tells her story about the case of events from the beginning where she was a little innocence girl known then as scout through emotionally and physically changing into a more responsible and supporting daughter to her father Atticus. As Jean recounts the events through the story about her father when she was younger. As a reader I don’t find this as a well enough reliable source of information revolving around the life of living in the town of Maycomb and the important events that occurred with her father and Tom Robinson because her memory from then to now could have forgotten some minor detail or some other events that tie into the main point

The reason Rosie is such a great person is that she follows the six pillars of character which are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and finally citizenship.
Gabriella Montez’s primary stereotype is the “nerd.” The first time Gabriella is seen, she is reading a book. This is a common indication used throughout the film industry that leads viewers to make the assumption that the character in question is introverted and intelligent. When Gabriella transfers to a new school, it is made clear that she is in fact academically talented. She is referred to as a “freaky genius girl” and “an Einsteinette.”
Hard Times is a novel in which many difficult situations arise. In a city centered on facts, there is little room for imagination. The daughter of a circus performer, Sissy Jupe, wasn't favored for her whimsicality and heartfelt kindness towards others. Despite her “flaw” of living life by feeling, Sissy is an influential character that has a positive effect on the lives of those she cares for. Sissy is also a central figure in the events that unfold in the novel.
