“You just can't let life happen to you, you have to make life happen” (Goodreads). People simply get choices, two different paths and it is up to them to choose the right one. The play of Macbeth by William Shakespere about a thane named Macbeth gets prophecies of him being king of Scotland and does what he can to fulfill that prophecy. As a dramatization of an episode of Scottish history, the play is clearly associated with the reigning monarch, James I, who was also the patron of Shakespeare's company, the King's Men (Columbia College). Killing people in their sleep is hideous, however Macbeth does this to take the throne. As Macbeth plans the murder, he sees a vision and says to himself, “Is this a dagger which I see before me, / The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee. / I have thee not, and yet I see thee still” (Shakespeare 2.1.33-35). By using a knife, Macbeth imagines the assassinate king Duncan. Furthermore, to ensure he is able to control the throne, he blames the guards, “For ruin’s wasteful entrance: there, the murderers, Steeped in the colors of their trade, their daggers Unmannerly breached with gore” (Shakespeare 2.3.115-117). Framing others is a vile action to do, however, he must be innocent from this action in order to legally be king. Controlling a future by murdering someone in their sleep is undeserving. When you know you have the upper hand against an opponent you should be ready for anything because the witches said Macbeth can not be killed by a person who was born from a woman. Macbeth asks the three witches what will happen in the future and the first apparition is“Be bloody, bold, and resolute! Laugh to scorn The pow’r of man, for none of woman born Shall harm Macbeth” (Shakespeare 4.1.79-81). Macbeth uses this to govern his future. Besides Macbeth fails at this “Despair thy charm, And let the angel whom thou still hast served Tell thee, Macduff was from his mother’s womb Untimely ripped” (Shakespeare 5.8.13-16). This means Macbeth tried to kill macduff but he was not born from a woman, it was a c section. This is why you should be prepared, life is unexpected.
