Jesus Campos, a security guard of Mandalay Bay, was shot by a gunman at 9:59 pm on Sunday, October 1. The gunman had also shot at 22,000 concert goers that night.
Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo announced on Wednesday, October 4 a major change in the timeline of events of the Las Vegas shooting that led to some serious questions. Lombardo stated during the News Conference that security guard Jesus Campos, who first arrived on the scene, had been shot for the gunman was identified as Stephen Paddock, a 61 year old male. His brother, Eric Paddock says he was not aware that his brother was going to shoot thousands of people. The Las Vegas Police Department found more than 23 weapons hidden inside his hotel room. In Paddock’s car were several pounds of ammonium nitrate, a compound to make explosives. It also turns out that the shooter’s father was a bank robber. His father, Benjamin Hoskins Paddock, was on the most wanted list, according to the FBI, from June 10, 1969 to May 5, 1977. However, his brother didn’t think he was like his Father
It also turns out that before Paddock was captured by the Las Vegas Police Department,he was found dead in his hotel room. Stephen Paddock had committed suicide and shot himself. Investigators have been trying to find more about Paddock asked his friends, neighbors, and his brother. Eric Paddock states that his brother was a kind friend and spent money on his loved ones But the mystery of Stephen Paddock remains.
There were many victims to the Las Vegas shooting. One was a man shielding his wife from the gunfire. Another was a veteran correction officer and his girlfriend. Some of the other victims are Andrea Castilla, Carrie Parsons, Austin Meyer, Brett Schwanbeck, Teresa Nicol Kimura, and Kari Lynn
