On June 2011, Dave Holloway filed a petition with the Alabama courts seeking to have his daughter declared legally dead. His former wife opposed the petition. A hearing was held on September 23, 2011, during which Probate Judge Alan King ruled Dave Holloway had met the requirements for a legal presumption of death. On January 12, 2012, a second hearing was held, after which Judge King signed the order declaring Natalee Holloway to be dead (Disappearance of Natalee Holloway, 2015). Ten years after Natalee Holloway went missing, a Dutch citizen came forward and claimed he knew where to find her. Prosecutors, however, did not take the statement serious. Jurriën de Jong told CNN 's that the teen 's body is buried in a crawl space at a Marriott vacation property in Aruba, and he believes he saw her in her final moments. According to De Jong he was near Marriott 's Aruba Surf Club, then under construction, on the night of May 30, 2005, when he saw a young man chase a young woman through the construction site. This case still remains unsolved and Natalee Holloway 's body has never been found. If assigned to conduct the investigation something 's I would have done would be; process the room in which she stayed in, also immediately collect the clothing that the suspects wore the night she went missing, this would include their shoes. In her room I would process it for latent prints to assure only those of hers were found and not the suspects. All the sheets and towels would be collected for analyzes to ensure no foreign DNA found. The room would be examined with the UV light to ensure no large amount of blood was present. The suspects clothes would be analyzed for any trace evidence if no trace evidence found then it would be analyzed with BlueStar. The shoes can also be examined for any blood evidence as well as for trace evidence such as if they were ever in Ms. Holloways room carpet fibers could be found
Police brutality is at an all time high, with the expansion of social media it has made racism appear more prominent. Racism is something that’s existed for generations however social media has given people the ability to see racism first hand for themselves and has also given the public to respond openly to the issue at hand. The Trayvon Martin case was one of the biggest cases that sparked the racial profiling discussion, Trayvon Martin was a African American male walking home from a convenient store at night with a hoodie on when he was racial profiled by George Zimmerman, a Hispanic male who saw trayvon martin as a threat based solely on the color of his skin and the hoodie that he was wearing. Trayvon was unarmed and harmless but do to someone else pre conceived
Natalee Ann Holloway was an American teenager who went missing on May 30, 2005. She had recently graduated high school, and was on a graduation trip to Aruba in the Caribbean. The last person to be seen with Natalee was Joran Van der Sloot, a dutch already convicted of killing Stephany Flores' Ramirez years earlier, and many leads have led Aruban police to believe that he killed Holloway. However, the details aren't concrete. Even though no arrests have been made connected to the kidnapping or murder of Natalee Holloway, detailed evidence proves that Joran van der Sloot killed Holloway and disposed of her body to cover up the crime.

According to Aruba police Chief Gerald Dompig, the focus was on these three suspects from the beginning. The chief stated that surveillance of the three began three days after Holloway was reported missing, and included surveillance, telephone wiretaps, and even monitoring of their e-mail. Chief Dompig indicated that the Holloway family pressured them to stop their surveillance prematurely and to detain the three suspects (Disappearance of Natalee Holloway, 2015). As the investigation
Casey Anthony “Smell of Death” In the summer of 2008, Casey Anthony daughter Caylee Anthony was last seen on June 16, 2008. No one knows where she was nor did Casey report that her daughter was missing. Time went by with no sign of Caylee reappearing. The Natalee Ann Holloway Investigation Several key cases exist that serve as teaching examples to those joining the criminal justice community. One such a case is that of Natalee Ann Holloway. The Natalee Ann Holloway investigation is especially atypical because no one has ever been tried, and her body has never been found. I believe that the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Ann Holloway was severely mishandled by the Aruban authorities.
