Nearly every citizen of the United States (U.S.) can attest to the fact the current election does not have a perfect candidate running for office. Most people will also agree that this election is incredibly significant because it will determine the path that this country takes. With all this in mind the first candidate running for the office is Hillary Clinton on the Democrat and liberal side. She has a strong background in politics, including her position as Secretary of State for the U.S. for four years, being the First Lady during Bill Clinton’s two term presidency, and being a senator for New York during a 9 near period. The other candidate is Donald Trump on the Republican and conservative side. He has a lengthy background in the business …show more content…
Hillary Clinton supports Obamacare as a whole even if she does agree that there is still work to be done (Ballotpedia). The fact that Hillary understands Obamacare is not working and does not even entertain the idea of restarting shows that she is a lazy politician that does not want to work hard for what the American people want. Donald Trump on the other hand, has stated he is going to repeal Obamacare and introduce a new plan that supports free market and state power (Ballotpedia). His aggressive stance on healthcare or “common sense”, as he calls it exemplifies his determination to do things correctly …show more content…
Many point to her time as Secretary of State and her previous experience in the political world as examples of her skills with foreign relations. During her time as the senator for New York she voted in favor for the Iraq War, which has almost universally considered a failure (Senate.gov). This shows that she has no foresight for what her actions may do and only goes with what the majority wants. A prime instance of Clinton’s skills as Secretary of State were shown when American troops were pulled out of Iraq, which left a power vacuum in the middle east that lead to the strengthening of ISIS (npr). Once again her inability to plan ahead and predict how others are going to respond was shown. Another example of American foreign relations during Clinton’s time as Secretary of State is how Libya fell apart after the death of its dictator Moammar Gadhafi, which President Barack Obama has stated was his worst failure (CNN). Considering the president of the entire U.S. is saying that his worst failure is in the area where Clinton was in charge it brings into question her ability to do her job. When taking all these instances into account it becomes clear that Clinton’s time in office has in no way showed her skills in foreign relations if anything it has only showed how bad she is at it. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has met with several leaders around the world and has
The Affordable health care act, popularly known as Obamacare, it’s a law that makes affordable health care available to more Americans since there are million of uninsured Americans and it will be cutting the rising cost of health insurance. Because of this law that grants coverage to everyone, it is increasing the rate of demand and consumer expending, making a great impact in the economy especially to GDP and economic growth. Also, not only there’s an increase in spending but also the labor market has been growing, since the employment rate has been increasing in the health care sector. While providing insurance to every American, it is generating major benefits to the newly insured like improving health, enhancing families security, increasing
After Clinton was elected for his second term is when progres was really being seen about the deficit. In 1997, there was an 8.2% annual growth and the deficit was down to $22 billion in 1997 from the $290 billion in 1993 because of the tax revenue (Harris 263). The book then talks about how Clinton wanted to expand NATO to the new nations of the former Soviet Union to make an united Europe (Harris 282). The Russian president was uncertain at first because Clinton wanted all nations of the former Soviet Union to join, however, Russia did end up joining after Clinton said that all nations wouldn’t be joining at once (Harris 287-288). The book then talks about how Clinton had to help out in in the Kosovo problem.
This meant that he could command how he saw fit, and his ideas would not be shot down. This would mean that he would take the glory for each victory, but this also meant that he would take the blame for their defeats. Clinton had many campaigns that failed because of weather conditions causing reinforcements to not arrive when they were needed (Henry Clinton). He also didn’t get very much support from England. The king did not believe that the war could be won, and sent very few troops and supplies to the British troops in the Americas.
Then he added more damage by lying under oath, about his sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky, few months later it was shown that he cheated on his wife with Ms. Lewinsky. The scandal displayed uncomfortable pressure towards the Clinton family and our nation, but in all he just lied, like most married men do when such cases of affair are being shown. In an interview with Bill Clinton, I heard the first lady at the time, Hilary Clinton, made Bill Clinton sleep on the couch for several months (3). Although, he was found guilty on the charges of perjury, he was still able to serve two terms in office, which is very perplexing to me since his cheating ways and actions are still displayed daily over social media. Monica Lewinsky actually had a promising political career, until this scandal ruined it for her.
How would you feel if someone told you to buy something you don’t want? That is what President Obama has done with the Affordable Health Care Act also called ObamaCare. Although ObamaCare says it will provide affordable health care for more Americans, which it will. Only Americans making under 400% of the federal poverty level (FPL) will qualify for cost assistance subsidies. Those barely above the poverty level who already have cheap limited coverage that were benefiting saw premium hikes go up in 2014.
No matter what your wallet may say, healthcare should be a BASIC human right for everyone. No life should be deemed less important or valuable just because they can't afford health care. People have ALWAYS been employed and work long hours every day and still can't afford to pay hospital bills. With Obamacare not only do welloff, or ordinary to poor citizens have available health insurance for the first time in years, but they can actually afford to fill prescriptions without having to worry. Americans need to get over this idea that we shouldn't pay for our services.
Health care is very costly, but not having any is even more costly. The U.S. is always trying to make healthcare affordable. Affordable health care comes in package that tells you that the insurers will provide to pay for like the mint pay for majority of the medicine you need. Do to the unwanted Obamacare, Donald Trump is trying to create an improved form of Obamacare, but, it is hard because, Trump would rather just get rid of it and start new, but due to the laws that can not happen. The laws state that it can not be abolished, it can only be reformed.
Conservatives and liberals argue over the plan, some worried about the government spending and the outcomes that it could cause, while others believe it should be financially supported by the government. Conservatives do not agree with Obamacare, wanting to repeal it. Whereas liberals want Medicare a universal system that offers to all. For conservatives healthcare is something they don’t want the government to be spending a lot of money on; as they believe it causes taxpayers to be paying more as well, primarily the upper class. They believe it to be detrimental to the economy, and to be “the biggest job killer in this country”, specifically Obamacare.
ObamaCare is what is going to make this country crash and burn. Once it happens all of a sudden Obama will be nowhere to be found. All the blame will be on him and he knows it to. We have been trying to get a handle on this beginning almost 100 years ago with Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt supported heath care because he believed no country could be sturdy with sick and weak people.
Bill Clinton was also an American politician who had served as the 42nd President of the United States. He had served his time from 1993 to 2001 and throughout his time in office, he had both aided yet negatively impacted the United States, which can be seen through many acts and bills he had signed, both domestic and foreign. Domestic accomplishments of President Clinton firstly included cutting the tax, similar to what Reagan had done. Clinton had signed the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act, cutting taxes for millions of low-income families. He had also cut tax for almost 100% of small businesses and raised the tax on the wealthiest taxpayers.
The position of President of the United States is surely a stressful and demanding one, but if President Clinton was seeking solace and relaxation from his relations with Monica Lewinski, he was making a huge mistake. Because he is still married to Hillary Clinton, I do not think he cheated on her because he didn’t love her anymore. As a result of that, I believe that the stress and demands of running a world super power, mixed with frequent interaction with Lewinski, influenced President Clinton to make the choice that affected him for the rest of his presidency, and wil affect him for the rest of his
He was more concerned about his own motives, such as hiding the affair from his wife and daughter. This is an example of imperial presidency, because instead of following the law and constitution, Clinton broke laws in order to obtain his own goals. He is not taking care that the laws be faithfully executed, instead he is pursuing his own
With Trump he has vowed to increase the size of the U.S. military (What’s at Stake) to get something done. Different from Hillary Clinton, Trump proposed to take away the capability for the terrorist group ‘ISIS’ to gain funds. Trump says, “If we start to attack their oil we eliminate their funds” (BallotPedia), this taking away their money and ability to recruit, publish propaganda and began to deplenish the ways of the terrorist organization. Again Trump with a very different way of getting things done opposed to Hillary Clinton. Voters have continuously asked the question of what will be done about the terrorist problems going on, candidate Donald Trump has a firmer grasp of what is going on and a more stout plan that he seems to believe in on how to get rid of the problem, and how to get rid of it once and for all unlike Clinton.
Clinton was in thousands of dollars of debt for multiple years being president and was in a lot of trouble when people figured it out. Clinton also lied a lot about a lot of different
Before the Affordable Care Act was put into work, over 45 million Americans were uninsured. The Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, was then made to help those who were uninsured. It allowed people with financial struggles with the same opportunity as everyone else to have a healthcare plan. Even though the law was passed in 2010, it took a full year of back and forth to get it passed in the Senate. Obamacare may help you get coverage, but charge you an annual fee if you don’t have one.
