Volunteering for the Peace Corps for at least one year would be a beneficial experience eighteen year old. It will add to their college application as well as a reference and for employment networking. Volunteer will be provided with a monthly living and housing allowance. Travel to a new country, learning a new language (cross-cultural experience), full medical and dental coverage is also provided. There is no fee to take part of this opportunity. Being able to leave home for a year may not be a choice for all. There are local Big Brother and Big Sister programs in which the eighteen year old can volunteer.
