Moreover, I have attempted to live my life in the same manner. At an early age, I learned the importance of academic excellence, integrity, leadership, and community service. My goals here at Alcorn include a BS in Elementary Education. I believe that this will help me give back to my community, improve my school district and become a better, well-rounded
I hope to bring diversity to all who walk on the campus. My background has shaped me into the intelligent African American woman I am today. Without growing up in the “hood”, I may have not been able to find the best career that interested me. I also would not have been able over all the challenges thrown at me. Instead I remained determined and motivated so that I was able to achieve all of the goals set before me.
As an alumnus I would focus on being a role model that inspires students to strive for greatness
My sophomore year in high school, I was nominated to be inducted into the National Honor Society. It was an honor to be chosen, seeing that the teachers had to nominate you. Now all I had to do was be accepted. Induction into the National Honor Society required an essay telling about yourself and why you should be chosen. I didn’t think I was very good at telling “why” I should be chosen.
“You did it. You helped make a difference,” were the words I heard when I felt my perspective on life change. It was in that moment, standing in the hallway of my high school, holding a crisp check of $2,000 for the American Heart Association that I realized I did not need to be a superhero in order to make a difference. When I became the president of my National Honor Society(NHS) chapter, I set out to make a difference within my school. In years past, the NHS chapter at my school was not extremely active and I set out to reinvent the chapter.
In addition, the special academic programs will further indulge me in the right path of success. Specifically, the learning communities and service learning connects with my dream career perfectly. I would unquestionably apply to be a part of the honors program. During my time at the university, I might discover new hobbies to broaden my interests.
I am competitive; I look for the chance to run the extra mile. My competitive nature has aided in everything I commit myself to. Regardless if I am participating in a sporting event, competing for a solo in a musical production, or preparing for a final, I will indubitably devote my time and efforts to perform as well as possible. I take every opportunity that is presented to me and attempted to better not only myself but my community as well. I am confident that the Honors College at the College of Charleston will enable me to devote my attention to my studies, become actively involved within campus activities and academic assemblies, and offer my time and abilities to charitable events and organizations.
Dear the National Honor Society selection committee, Thank you for the great honor of being invited to apply for membership to such a well-respected and incredible organization. I am very excited about this opportunity as it presents an optimal way in which to further my passion of expanding my mind and bettering my community. Since I entered high school, I have pursued this by taking all honors classes and any Advanced Placement classes offered to me each year. Although sometimes I was not always entirely sure what to expect walking into each class, and of course there have been classes I like more than others, there is no class I regret taking because each and every one has opened my mind up to a new way of thinking.
High School Graduation The beginning of the Highs School year,was a new experience for me,because of begin alone in the school without knowing nobody, not knowing the language and have zero knowledge of the academic level i need it to have in order to graduate, on the mid senior year of high school,i got a call from the counselor Mr.Calume,he told me that, in order to graduate i need it to pass 4 states exams that can be only due 2 times per year semester,and i was in my last semester of high school,so the chances of me passing those test were low for me. There for, i meet some olds friends from when i was a child from my country (Venezuela) they have move to the same school i me,so they reached me some tips and trick to pass
The Honors College programs offer a unique academic experience for students who are seeking a more challenging and rewarding educational journey. As a high-achieving student who is passionate about learning and academic excellence, I believe that joining an honors college can provide me with the support, community, and opportunities that can help me become the best version of myself while achieving my goals. One of the main reasons why I want to join the Honors College is the support and resources that are available to students. Honors College students often receive personalized attention and guidance from faculty members, academic advisors, and other support staff.
Though my list of goals could go on for pages, they’re all motivated by one common goal: to continuously better myself and the impact I leave upon others. The Honors College would serve as a vehicle for this self-improvement and foster deep relationships with professors and peers, research, and a love for learning that goes far beyond the classroom. I believe one of the most appealing aspects of the Honors College is the opportunity to research. There are many topics I’m interested in researching, one of them being our public schools and the achievement gap that comes with them.
I love being surrounded by people who are passionate about learning and being able to support each other. I believe that I can positively contribute to the Honors College. As I said, I love learning and helping people. I want to be able to help my peers in their learning experience by tutoring
I am extremely excited to begin college and take on the challenge of Honors courses. Honors courses will both expand my knowledge and ability in not only engineering, but many aspects of my life. I truly fit all the criteria of an Honors Student. I am confident that I share the same values and characteristics of an Honors Program member such as going above and beyond and examining the world around me. My numbers alone do not show my character and commitment to scholarship and learning, or my commitment to the Barry County community around me, but my actions do.
The Honors College would provide many opportunities for the expansion of my education and global perspectives. I would take advantage of all the opportunities granted, and broaden my education as much as possible. Getting involved in the ECU community and making college not only an academic experience but a life experience is what makes me most excited and most hopeful to be part of the Honors
I try to be involved in anything I can to help the school, from being an active member of the tennis team, volunteering at several locations to give back to the world, and being apart of REBEL to help spread awareness and guide people to make better decisions. I believe that I would be an asset to the society because I always bring a positive attitude, always work hard to achieve my goals. I make every effort to assist my fellow students to do their best and will be a very dedicated person to any scenario National Honor Society brings in my pathway to
