I took an interest in nursing four years ago. During this time my grandmother, who was my best friend fell and broke her hip. She was 100 years old so after her fall there wasn't much she could do on her own. It was heartbreaking to see the most strongest and independent person I know become so weak and depressed. I then made it my duty to take care of her when my mom or uncles couldn't. The things I saw disturbing a few years ago such as cleaning someones private parts and changing their dressing on rashes became something I didn't mind doing. My only concern was making sure she was comfortable. It was an amazing feeling when I helped her maintain hygiene, clean her bed, take her down the street in her wheelchair for some sun, serve her food …show more content…

I was extremely happy to wake up in the morning to go to work not only because i was getting paid for it but because I learned something new everyday . Interacting with nurses during deliveries sparked an old desire I had to go to nursing school. Every day on my drive home a passed school and won day noticed the sign stating that they now offered an LPN program in the evening. Evening courses were appealing because I was raising three teenagers and their father would be home at night so I could be at school and not
I want to be in a place where I am with others that want to be excellent. I want to learn not only from my peers, but also from my patients. I can learn many life lessons from listening to others, whether it be children or the elderly. I also want to grow in my career and work my way to being the most efficient I can possibly be, in order to give my patients the care they deserve. Becoming a nurse means the world to me, my biggest goal is giving back to others, and I feel that a career in nursing will teach me how to serve others
This led to the great praise that is given to God from Mirandola. He is overwhelmed by the generosity of God the Father. " … Oh wondrous and unsurpassable felicity of man, to whom it is granted to have what he chooses, to be what he wills to be!" (Mirandola 2). And so, with these unique gifts, upon creation it is man 's responsibility to take the greatest advantage of these gifts.
It will motivate me to strive for integrity and greatness in everything I do, regardless of the situation. I am aware that I have a special set of abilities that have opened doors for me and given me many chances to follow my dreams. But I am well aware that these blessings and gifts are also a result of God's grace and provision, not just of my own abilities. I firmly think that God has called me to use my gifts in order to make a positive difference in people's lives, encourage others, and ultimately honor His name. I'm determined to honor God in all I do, including my work in entertainment.
I learned so much and gained so much knowledge from each department. I’ll admit it took me a little longer to get comfortable working in pediatrics. But I eventually became pretty good to the point I was asked if I would take a permanent position when it became available. As I worked and learned more about the different avenues in the medical field I knew I wanted to go further just becoming a medical assistant. I felt like this was just a stepping stone to help me figure out the roadmap to becoming a nurse.
I assisted the Oncologists to take care of my father and I knew I was being called to continue my education and become a Nurse Practitioner. I know I am on the path created for me and will work very hard to be successful. I feel so blessed to finally be on this
I chose nursing specifically because I love the idea of taking care of people, and nurses make a huge difference and have such an impact on the patients and their loved ones lives. In my junior year, I went to Butler hospital to shadow one of the nurses that worked there. During her shift, she was always busy and working hard in order to take care of all her patients. The thought of working hard
My Intent to Be a Nurse Practitioner Coming from a third world country where there aren’t many opportunities for work and funding for education, proceding to nursing school was a grand opportunity. The privilege to attend a government subsidized school where top students in the region compete to get into the program that allowed only 60 students per year was indeed a blessing. As clinical rotations began, what was once considered a mere opportunity evolved into a true passion for caring as I truly love and enjoy nursing and helping people.
Sometimes, we would have people come to our home for treatments as well. Our home had become a place of healing for the broken, both literally and metaphorically. Our home had being set apart from many others. I learnt the importance of love, care, and support. My first opportunity personally interacting with patients was after I became a certified nursing assistant (CNA); I took a job at a Skilled Nursing Home called York land Park.

I am currently an undergraduate at Rowan College at Gloucester County completing my pre-nursing studies. As I was growing up, I always enjoyed the idea of helping and healing others. My inspiration to become a nurse was watching my mother make a difference in the lives of elderly at a local senior living community as an Activities Assistant for years. Even though, she was unable to go back to school due to personal circumstances, the compassion she showed towards others around her was something special as she took care of them as if they were relatives. Whenever I had free time, I would just sit and play a game with the elderly residents hearing their life stories from when they were young.
As a child, I dreamed of acquiring a career in Nursing. I was always fascinated by the amount of respect that nurses received during my doctor visits throughout my childhood. There are many reasons why I chose to major in Nursing such as the ability to take care of someone, the money and benefits that the career offered, as well as job stability and flexibility. On of my main reasons for pursing Nursing is the ability to care for someone other than myself.
I not only cared for the patients, but I also cared for the families. The family members of sick patients were also my patients, and they too require care; warm blankets, water, food, compassion, and empathy. I had been in their
I did nursing assistant to take care of my disabled mother who passed away from cancer. It was a side job taking care of her while I worked in technology. Through this certification process, I learned a lot about outpatient care. I had the opportunity to work for Kindred hospital to gain the maximum experience to use for the care of my mother. After her death, I got more interested in pharmacy because the medication had prolonged her life and when the medication was cut on her because insurance did not cover her she passed away.
